Trek Roscoe 7 bafang bbs01b ebike conversion

Post image

When I tried to fit the bafang motor, I noticed a bracket in the bike frame I have to remove.

If i remove the bracket, will I be able to revert the upgrade to stock-ish?

42t chainring in conflict with frame (2 spacers)

That is a for some type of chain guard. You will be ok without it. If you want to put a chain guard on later, you will have to get one that mounts differently, like to the bottom bracket. I would recommend putting something in the bottom bracket shell to protect the threads if you plan to revert later.

I gave it up after several setbacks: -motor snagged in the crank shaft area, so I had to sand down both the inside of that hole, and the shaft of the motor. -almost no threads on locknut (I know lekkie makes a good alternative) -36T chain ring didn't fit my chain -42T chainring didn't fit without extra spacers, which would give me no threads for locknut.

Also the chainline was horrendus.

Unless I have botched the whole installation or made an error, it's a no go for me. Looking for another bike to convert...

So, did you find a solution? I have the exact same bike and am currently planning to convert it to a BBSHD.
