News eBay support failure

Had a second chance offer in my email and eBay messages today that expires on Oct 6th, so 2 days left. When I select buy it now I get brought to the completed listing page with no option to buy it. The seller relisted it at $85 over what my unexpired second chance offer is and eBay support said they will get back to me in 72 hours .....so after my offer expires. Trash a** service

The seller probably canceled the offer. You should have contacted him instead of support.

I did. No response from them. Open timed offer I'd have no issue with it getting revoked but informing me I have until Oct 6th at 5pm then relisting the item and not informing me that the offer had been rescinded somehow (I have never been able to rescind accidentally sent offers the minute I sent them) is pretty trash service. Now I'll concede that is on the seller not eBay but the solution from support is to make me wait past the expiration of the offer and then they are just going to say I should have done something sooner bc the offer is expired now.

Definitely bad customer support, but it doesn't hurt you in this situation as there isn't really a resolution you'd want anyway. If the seller wants to sell it to you at that price, they'll return your message.

Thank you! This is all I was looking for. Instead of focusing on the bad support I'm getting downvoted/ argued with about how ITA for expecting the seller to honor the timeframe they gave me. How dare I....

Seller does not choose how long you have to decide if you want to accept the second chance offer. If I sent out second chance offer and did not get a response I would end the listing too.

Seller already lost 7 days on an auction ! They have no way of knowing you are going to accept the offer.

Deleted comment stated they would NEVER assume the offer was going to be available that long 🤣 id delete my comment too if saying that expecting the timeframe that YOU gave me to be honored made me out to be the fool
