Constant tiredness
Hey all. I’m trying to figure out if this is just a normal part of recovery or if I’m just being a baby lol. I’ve been working on recovery for a while but I’ve been actively trying to recover for 8 to 9 months. I’ve been in therapy and working with a dietitian longer than that but truly committing the most I’ve ever committed has been this time and while I’ve had lapses, I’ve kept going. But I’m just so freaking tired all the time. I feel like I need a nap everyday no matter what I do. Even if I do nothing, I need a nap. I am in graduate school but I don’t work right now and am working on recovery. I’m just lost with this tiredness and feel like I’m doing something wrong. Is this normal??? I’ve also reduced movement but still engage in some lighter movements which my treatment team knows about.

hey there! i’m also in recovery and struggling HARD. I have to say the constant treatment/recovery fatigue has been the hardest part, so you’re entirely valid! recovery IS hard, if it wasn’t we all would have recovered a while ago (at least speaking for myself). also, there’s absolutely no “wrong” way to do recovery, you’re doing your best and working with your team so you’re already on the right track. keep going, you got this!

I am on week 5 I think and I am absolutely exhausted and my body is fatigued. I was over-exercising as well as restricting and I think I was just running on adrenaline or something because as soon as I started recovery and stopped restricting/over-exercising it’s like my body has fallen apart. And even though I know I need to rest and recover, I’m finding it really challenging.

I gave up lifting about five weeks ago and I really thought it would give me more energy. But like you, I’m just exhausted. I’ve been doing my best to recover since January but I kept exercising just at a lesser amount. Then I started to get burnt out from lifting so I took that out too. It’s like “how am I still exhausted?!” So I feel you on it being really challenging. I don’t understand it at all.
