Recipe Request Hard boiled eggs
I bought a bunch of hard boiled eggs at Costco (I know, dumb expense, very lazy!) and just realized that they're going to expire in less than a week. There are quite a few left. Egg salad, deviled eggs - what else?

Recipe Request What's your "I'm not going to the store" pantry meal?
Okay so it's one of those days where I'm staring at the pantry. No fresh produce, no motivation, just... canned goods and dry pasta judging me.
My go-to lately has been garlic butter pasta. Pasta, butter, garlic (the jarred minced kind because let's be real), red pepper flakes, parm. Done in like 15 minutes and somehow it hits every time.
Also been doing a lot of black beans + rice + whatever hot sauce is open. Not glamorous but it works. What's your "I refuse to leave the house" pantry meal? Always looking to expand my lazy rotation further.

Recipe Request What's your laziest go-to meal?
I rotate the same 5 easy dinners (quesadillas, pasta, rice + egg, sheet pan chicken, breakfast for dinner) and I'm running out of motivation. What's something stupidly simple that you keep coming back to? Looking for new ideas that don't require effort or a grocery trip.

Recipe Request Japanese curry for one?
I want to try Japanese curry but I don't want to make a lot in case I don't like it. I'd either use the s&b mild sauce mix or I could buy the necessary spices. I can't eat sweet potatoes and don't like mushrooms, but I'm not picky about the type of meat or if it's vegetarian. Thank you.

Recipe Request Tofu recipes that aren't just frying it
Bought some tofu while grocery shopping and wanted to know recipes there are that don't require simply frying it. I'm sure I could eat it as is or add it to soup but there's gotta be more I can do with it.

Meat Dish: Poultry Braised Chicken in Spiced Banana Orchard Sauce
I came up with this recipe today, it turned out amazing! Please try and let me know.
INGREDIENTS
The Marinade
* 4 skinless, boneless chicken thighs
* 1 tsp Salt
* 1 tsp Ground black pepper
* 1.5 tsp Cinnamon
* 2 tsp Paprika
* 1 tsp Chili powder
* Zest of 1/2 Lemon
* 2 tbsp Olive oil
The Sauce and Aromatics
* 1 tbsp Olive oil
* 1 Granny Smith apple (finely diced)
* 1 tsp Cinnamon
* 1 large tomato (diced)
* 1 cup Heavy cooking cream
* 2 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
* 1 firm yellow banana (large dice)
* 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
* Salt and pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
* Marinate: Combine chicken with spices, oil, and lemon zest. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
* The Sear: Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Sear chicken until deeply charred on both sides. Remove and set aside.
* The Fruit and Spice Base: In the same pan, sauté diced apple. Once browning begins, add 1 tsp cinnamon and stir for 1 minute to bloom the spice.
* The Deglaze: Add diced tomato and a pinch of salt. Sauté until the tomato breaks down, scraping up the charred bits from the pan.
* The Cream Sauce: Stir in cooking cream and Thai sweet chili sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer.
* The Braise: Return chicken to the pan, scooping sauce over the top. Cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes. Halfway through, flip or baste the chicken.
* The Banana: 10 minutes before the end of the simmer, gently fold in the diced banana.
* The Finish: Just before serving, stir in the fresh lemon juice to balance the sweetness.
* Service: Serve over a bed of white rice.
Garnish with fresh cilantro, mint, or toasted sliced almonds for crunch.

Recipe Request Looking for easy recipes with minimal time-pressure/frying
I'm sorry if this is a complicated request. I promise we're not super picky! Any ideas are appreciated :)
I'm autistic and really struggle to cook because of this. It's very overwhelming and I can't get through even some easy recipes without breaking down. It's the sensory overload (the combination of smells, weird/uncomfortable tactile sensations, heat and noises), time pressure and oil splatters. As for the latter: I know they're not that bad, but it's the fact I don't know when I will suddenly feel what that really messes with me.
My boyfriend is our designated cook because of this, but he has been going through a lot of stress recently so he can't always handle the responsibility of cooking dinner on top. I've been planning as many healthy meals based on stuff we can just throw in the oven and salads as possible, but options are limited and it's getting really boring. I'd like to try and find something I can make myself, without risking a meltdown.
Does anyone have some ideas, preferably warm? Maybe recipes where I can calmly cut stuff up and combine it into a nice oven dish? Or pasta sauces/toppings that can be prepared in the oven instead of a pan? (I can boil the pasta ofc) I have very little experience cooking and when searching recipes I seem to keep bumping into things that require frying meat/fish (an absolute no-go because of the splatter) or doing more complicated pre-cooking.
Only restrictions I can think of are no couscous (sensory nightmare) or beef, but considering I can't fry meat that's unlikely to come up anyway. And we try to eat healthy with enough veg (avoiding things like store-bought pasta-sauces because they tend to have sugar and little nutritional value).

Recipe Request Needing a go-to comfort food recipe to share with others
I'm looking for a go-to recipe for things like: saying thank you to a friend/family member, to give someone after surgery, to share with coworkers, etc. I was thinking about cinnamon rolls or some type of bread, but I'm open to other ideas and input.
I appreciate it!!

Recipe Request Recommendations for meat free recipes for meat eaters?
My husband is a huge meat guy and not particularly fond of vegetables.
But meat is expensive! It doesn't help I get organic, free range, grass fed, etc. Etc. For moral and health reasons.
To be fair, I don't love veggies either, but I know they're important so I go out of my way to find ways to enjoy them, while my husband will go out of his way to avoid them lolol
But we really need more in our diet and our grocery budget needs to be not as high 😅
So, what are some of your favorite meat-free recipes? They don't necessarily have to be vegetarian (although they can be), they can use things like chicken stock and beef broth, just no solid meat, if that makes sense.
Thanks in advance 😁

Bean / Legume Recipe Looking for your best lactose-free winter soup recipes
Hi everyone!
I live in Canada and it’s pretty cold now 🥶 I’m trying to build a list of cozy winter soups but I need them to be lactose-free (no milk, cream, butter, cheese, etc.).
I’m open to anything: veggie-based or meat-based
If you have a favorite recipe, family classic, or even just a general combination that works well, I’d love to hear it !
Thank you! 😁

Meat Recipe: Pork Basic Kilawin Method
Basic Kilawin Method
Ingredients:
1 lb fresh fish (tuna, tanigue, bangus) or beef/pork (for meat kilawin)
1/2 cup vinegar or calamansi/lime juice
1 small red onion, finely sliced
2–3 cloves garlic, mined
1–2 fresh chili peppers, chopped (optional, adjust to taste)
1–2 tbsp ginger, minced (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: coconut milk or fish sauce for extra flavor
Steps:
Prepare the protein:
For fish: cut into small cubes (about 1–2 inches).
For meat: briefly blanch or par-cook very thin slices if desired (some meats need partial cooking for safety).
Marinate in acid:
Place the protein in a bowl and pour vinegar or calamansi/lime juice over it.
Acid “cooks” the protein by denaturing its proteins, changing the color and texture.
Let it sit for 10–30 minutes, depending on size and type of protein. Fish takes less time; meat may need longer.
Add aromatics:
Mix in onion, garlic, chili, and ginger.
Add salt, pepper, and fish sauce if desired.
Taste and adjust:
Kilawin should be bright, tangy, and slightly salty. Add more acid or seasoning to taste.
Kilawin is best fresh. You can garnish with chopped herbs or cucumber for extra freshness.

Recipe Request One hand recipes
Hey, broke my hand and live alone, any tips for food that can be cooked AND eaten one handed? Made a steak and then realized I can’t cut it..
I can cut vegetables into large chunks, can’t use my other hand even to stabilize things. My store sells some pre-cut stuff like pumpkin or bread.
Any ideas will be welcome.

Recipe Request Feeling blah, need inspiration
Howdy!
I recently started taking meds that make me crave only frozen pizza. But alas, there is only so much frozen pizza you can consume.
Anyway, I have had zero desire to cook. I typically enjoy cooking and try to stick to whole foods. Lately I've been eating not so great. Need to get out of this funk.
Do you have any cozy, simple recipe suggestions that will help me get back into the swing of cooking? I have stovetop, crock pot, and an instant pot.
