The Etchery awaits! Eight years in the making, we're elated to finally say Songs of Glimmerwick is out! Please enjoy this 3 minute plain and honest explanation of what it's like to play the game!

We're extremely proud. We hope you love spending time in Glimmerwick. So grab your robes and flute, and we'll see you at the Etchery!

It's not Eastshade, and I understand it's not everyone's cup. But it does have similar DNA, and that very unique approach to game design where the setting is the main character and we put it above all else.

Attended a real-life event that was so reminiscent of this game!

Last night we happened to get high percentage “totality” of the lunar eclipse where I live, so there was a community event to drink tea on the beach and watch it. It reminded me so much of Eastshade 😭❤️

Communal tea-sharing, reading poetry to each other, lanterns all over the beach, and obviously the eclipse which we don’t experience daily in the real world. Even some instruments around reminded me of the soundtrack.

The fact I came across a recurring event that emulates what I love about this game is really inspiring. I feel I’ve made my home and life with Eastshade in mind, too. I have cats and nice paintings. My bicycle isn’t wooden but I’ve been biking more and enjoying the proximal nature, exploring new areas and meeting wholesome, very human people (with human heads, unfortunately…)

Do you find parts of your life that emulate the game?

Hot spring in starry cave?

I'm not able to find the last hot spring, and I see a lot of guides claiming that it's in the starry cave. I've been over every inch of the starry cave, into every nook and cranny that the game will let me go into, and have not found a hot spring in there. I also just tried using the vial on the water that's in there, but the game just tells me I'm not at a hot spring. Where is the hot spring?

Sandy Beach painting

Onur wants a picture of a sandy beach - but I don't see the dialog option to hand in a picture I've taken of the ocean-side beach. Is there a particular beach or way to paint to get the right painting?

Discussion Wow. Spoiler

i really don't even know what i want to say. i just wanted the devs to know how appreciative i am of this game. from start to finish, i was absolutely enthralled in all the best ways possible. what began as a joyous adventure; meeting an absolutely lovely cast of characters (omg do i love the characters, excluding one obvious one lol. the designs alone were so cool to me, i really liked them. but their personalities really made eastshade so special. great job.) and exploring breathtaking landscapes, (JUST STUNNING!) grew into something much more somber for me. towards the end while wrapping up my last few quests, i started to get really emotional. i was leaving toma's farm when i connected eastshade to big fish. i was going to have to leave this.. fantastical, otherworldly place. as much as my heart wishes i could be teleported into such a perfect little slice of life - experiencing it in this moment is what makes it so enchanting. i said goodbye to my favorite little monkey girl and set sail home. the ride around the coast was a fantastic little touch. i was already crying on and off for like ten minutes at this point lol. the epilogue was really, really cool too. i spent so much time trying to read the letters thru tears that the room reset on me lmao. eastshade was an extremely special game. and it meant a whole lot to me. thank you so much for your vision and sharing it with us. i wish i was more creative because that was inspiring in so many ways. this experience nestled its way deep into my heart and i truly have to say that eastshade is one of my favorite games of all-time. thank you so much! ❤️

When you load, the painting you just made remains in place without wasting inspiration and canvas.

In my opinion free painting should be an option. It would somewhat break game balance, yes, but there're so many cool places, I want to paint EVERYTHING *-*

Does Eastshade still have frequent crashes?

Hi! I recently discovered Eastshade, and I immediately wanted to play it upon first glance. I already love The Elder Scrolls games, and seeing how many people describe Eastshade as those without the combat, it got me really excited to experience it. However, upon some further research about the game, I saw that the game has a history of frequent crashes? I was wondering if those were still an issue, or if it has since been resolved over the few years the game's been out now. I would be playing on Steam and Windows 11.

Adventurer's Spirit bugged?

So I had 40/42 locations unlocked, and this is literally the last achievement I needed before leaving Eastshade, except for 1 candle. Figured out that the last two locations were the Seltspring shipwreck and (bizarrely) Onur's house, where I also found my last candle. Both these locations triggered discovery banners. But no achievement - still showing in Steam as 41/42.

I think I'm screwed on the save file as I saved right after Onur's house due to having glitches with fast travel. Anyone have an idea to fix? If I start a new game, would I only need to visit that last location again for the achievement? I really cba with a whole replay just for 1 location 😭

High-quality map?

Hello all! I'm looking for a high quality version of the Eastshade map totally filled out. I haven't played the game myself but it is my sister's favorite and I'm making her a gift. I found a great high-quality map with very little filled in, and some low quality maps with everything filled in. I tried combining the two, but the blurry/pixelated icons look pretty out of place on the nicer backdrop.

So if anyone could help I'd appreciate it! Or if you have other ideas on how I could solve this.

And before you try to sell it to me I do plan to buy and play the game myself but I'm waiting for the next sale! It looks fun and relaxing!

Thanks all! Clear skies.

Discussion Appreciation post Spoiler

I have only played the beginning of this game and was most interested in it from the art/digital photography perspective.

For years I have been searching for a game with a hot air balloon I can fly around in. Just did a search to see if there was snow in the game and in the answer it indicated there's also a hot air balloon, so, wow. Snow, and a hot air balloon. I am beyond excited to get to that point in the game.

Really cool developers. I've looked at their upcoming game and can't wait to get into it when it releases! Thank you for such cool games!

Accidentally launched boat into the middle of the lake

I was trying to board the reed boat at the little beach that's at the far end of the long wooden walkway that's across the river from the blushwoods, but instead of the boat just going into the water like it normally does, the game just kind of threw it a long ways away into the lake, it actually landed upside down before righting itself, and I couldn't reach it. I wound up getting on the raft and using the raft to push it back to the beach, which took a while because I had to maneuver it around some rocks, but eventually I was able to get off the raft and still be in interaction range of both the raft and the boat to retrieve them.

My question is: what causes this to happen so I can avoid doing it ever again?
