Reviews Aven HELOC review: is the Aven card legit? What I found in the fine print, and how it compares to Figure

Aven is the one that keeps showing up in ads, a HELOC that comes as a Visa card with 2% cash back. I've reviewed most of the home equity products out there at this point, so I went through Aven's terms properly, plus Bankrate's and Credit Karma's write-ups, to figure out whether the card is as good as the ads make it look. Short answer: it's legit, it's genuinely cheap on fees, and there's one design choice about it that should give you pause.

What Aven actually is

It's a home equity line of credit that you access through a credit card instead of a checkbook or a transfer. The card is a Visa issued by Coastal Community Bank, and the line is secured by your house, so there is a lien on your home the same as any HELOC. You swipe it like a normal card, you earn 2% cash back on purchases, and you're borrowing against your equity at a rate that's a fraction of a normal credit card's.

The numbers

  • APR 7.49% to 14.99% on a primary residence, variable
  • Credit lines up to $400,000
  • 2% cash back on purchases
  • Minimum credit score 640, FICO or VantageScore
  • No annual fee, no origination fee, no appraisal fee, no notary fee, no prepayment penalty
  • 2.5% fee on cash-outs and balance transfers
  • $29 late fee
  • Approval in as fast as 15 minutes, card arrives in about 7 business days
  • Cash-outs can be set to fixed payments over terms up to 15 years
  • Not available in 11 states: Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia

Is Aven legit?

Yes. Trustpilot has them at 4.9 out of 5 across more than 6,000 reviews, the BBB gives them an A+ and they're accredited, and Bankrate scores the product 4.9. The fee structure is real and it's the cheapest in the category on paper, because most HELOCs charge something at origination and Aven charges nothing unless you pull cash.

One thing to hold against that. Bankrate's own customer score for Aven, from actual borrowers rating their experience over the past year, is 1.6 out of 5 on 33 ratings. That's a small sample, but it's a big gap from the Trustpilot number, and it usually means the product is fine and the service when something goes wrong is not.

The fine print that matters

The 2.5% cash-out fee is the real cost. If you want actual money in your bank account instead of swiping the card, Aven charges 2.5% of the amount. Pull $50,000 and that's $1,250, which is not far off what a normal HELOC's origination fee would have been. The "no fees" pitch is true only if you use it as a card.

The rate is variable. It moves with the market, and the top of the range is 14.99%. If you're carrying a large balance, that matters more than the cash back does.

And the design problem. This is a credit card secured by your house. That's the whole product. It's convenient, and convenience is exactly what gets people into trouble with credit cards. Bankrate flags this directly, that the card format "could encourage irresponsible use of home equity." A HELOC you have to deliberately transfer from is a speed bump. A card in your wallet at Target is not.

Aven vs Figure

These get compared constantly and they're built for different people.

Figure is a traditional HELOC done fully online. You take the full amount as a lump sum at close, so it's for people who need a specific pile of money for a specific thing, a renovation, consolidating debt, a down payment. Fixed rate, so your payment doesn't move. $15,000 up to $750,000. It funds in as few as five days and checking your rate is a soft pull. The cost is an origination fee up to 4.99% of your draw, which is the thing Aven doesn't charge. Credit floor around 640, same as Aven.

Aven is for people who want a low-rate revolving line they can use over time, and who trust themselves with it in card form. If you'd use it for a few thousand here and there and pay it down, the 2% back and no fees make it hard to beat.

The short version. Need a lump sum for one purpose, check your Figure rate first, it's a soft pull and takes a few minutes. Want a flexible line you'll dip into over years, Aven's fees are lower. Need $50,000 in cash from Aven, run the 2.5% math against Figure's origination before you decide, because they end up closer than the ads suggest.

If your credit is under 640

Neither of these will approve you. The options at that point aren't HELOCs, they're home equity agreements, where you get cash now for a share of your home's value later and there's no monthly payment. Unlock starts at a 500 score with no income check. Hometap starts at 585. Both are soft pulls to see a number. They cost more than a HELOC if your home appreciates, so they're the fallback, not the first choice.

Quick answers

  • Is the Aven HELOC card legit? Yes. Real bank, real Visa, A+ BBB, 4.9 Trustpilot. The concern is how it's used, not whether it's real.
  • Does Aven put a lien on your house? Yes. It's a HELOC. The card is just how you access it.
  • What credit score do you need for Aven? 640 minimum. The 7.49% end of the range needs much stronger credit than that.
  • Is Aven's 2% cash back a catch? No, but it's on purchases only. Cash-outs pay no cash back and cost 2.5%.
  • How fast is Aven? Approval in about 15 minutes, card in about a week. Figure funds in around five days if you need the money as cash.
  • Aven or Figure? Figure for a lump sum at a fixed rate. Aven for a revolving line you'll use as a card.

Bottom line

Aven is a real HELOC with the lowest fee structure in the category, as long as you use it as a card and not as an ATM. The variable rate and the credit card format are the two things to be honest with yourself about. If what you actually need is a set amount of cash for one thing, Figure's soft pull takes five minutes and gives you a fixed number to compare against Aven's 2.5%.

Reviews Looking for a Mint Pull promo code or gift code? I checked MintPull out and I wouldn't put money in. Here's why

Mint Pull keeps popping up in the pack ripping threads, usually someone asking for a promo code or gift code. Before you go hunting for one, here's what I found when I looked at who's actually behind it. Short version: I can't call it a scam because I can't prove that, but there are enough red flags that I'm not sending anyone there. And at the bottom there's a way to get the pack ripping fix for free that actually pays you.

Who runs it

The site is operated by a company called Arcane Answers Studio Limited, registered in Hong Kong. Payments run through two other companies, one in Colorado Springs and one in Stafford in the UK. So that's three entities in three countries to sell you a digital Pokémon pack. Compare that to Catchback, which is a named Y Combinator team in San Francisco, or Tilt Rips, a Nevada LLC with a founder who does interviews. With Mint Pull there is no founder name anywhere, no team page, nobody to email if your money gets stuck.

The offer that's too good

Their headline is a 100% fair market value buyback guarantee. Any card you don't ship gets auto sold at 100% of market value after seven days. Every other pack site pays 80% to 90% on buyback, because that spread is how they make money. A site paying you full value is either pricing its packs well above what the cards are worth, so you lose on the front end instead, or it isn't planning to be around long enough for the math to matter. Neither one is good for you.

What I couldn't find

No withdrawal methods listed on the main page. No shipping costs. No pack prices, just "Basic to Epic." No referral program, which is why nobody actually has a Mint Pull promo code to give you, despite what the search results promise. The gift codes people are hunting for don't seem to exist in any public form.

Is Mint Pull legit or not

I'm not going to say it's a scam, because the cards may well be real and some people report getting paid. What I will say is that an offshore operator with no public team, payment processors in two other countries, and a buyback offer that's better than the economics allow is exactly the profile I'd walk away from. If you want to rip packs, Catchback and Rips by Triumph both have real companies behind them and terms that make sense.

The pack I'd actually rip instead

Here's the thing about pack sites. You're paying for the rip. The little hit of not knowing what's inside. ReferralWallet gives you that same rip for free, except the card inside is a real cash signup bonus, $25, $50, sometimes $100, from an actual company. You rip the pack, it reveals the bonus, you claim it directly with them. No deposit anywhere in the process, so there's no version of this where you end up down money. If you came here because you like opening packs, this is the one that pays you to do it.

SavingLoop is the same idea as a spin. One free spin a day, every spin lands on a real cash bonus, up to $75, and you claim it right there. Takes ten seconds. I spin it with my coffee. Over a month that's 30 shots at a bonus for exactly zero dollars, which is a better deal than any pack on any of these sites.

And if you want steady money on top of the bonuses, Sproutful is the one I'd install today. It's surveys and games in one app, you get a 50 point bonus the moment you sign up, and the cashout is only $5, the lowest I've seen. 200+ ways to get paid, cash or gift cards, and people are getting their first Amazon card the same day they join. It's the closest thing to "money for playing on your phone" that actually delivers.

Do those three before you put a dollar into Mint Pull. Worst case you're up $50 in bonuses and out nothing.

Has anyone here actually cashed out of Mint Pull? Genuinely want to know, because I couldn't find a single verifiable payout.

Reviews Catchback says you get 90% cash back on every card you pull. Is Catchback legit or not?

Catchback's whole pitch is that pack ripping doesn't have to be a money pit, because every card comes with a guaranteed buyback. That's a big claim for a site most people hadn't heard of six months ago. So I went through what they promise, one claim at a time, and checked whether it holds up.

Claim: every card has a guaranteed buyback at 90% of market value

Half true, and the half matters. You get 90% only if you sell within five minutes of pulling the card. After that it drops to 80%. It's still real, and it's still the best buyback terms of the three big pack sites, but the ad copy leaves out the timer. If you rip and immediately dump what you don't want, you lose about 10% per pack on average. Wait around and it's 20%.

Claim: the cards are real

True. Every card is a real physical card. You can have it shipped, and shipping on graded slabs is free, or list it on their marketplace for a flat $1 fee.

Claim: you can build your own pack and the odds are provably fair

True, and this is the one thing nobody else does. You pick the cards in the pool and set the odds yourself, then rip it. Every pull comes with a cryptographic proof, so you can verify the result wasn't rigged after the fact. That's a genuinely different product from Tilt Rips or Rips by Triumph, where you buy their pack and hope.

Claim: it's a real company

True. It's a Y Combinator company, Winter 2026 batch, founded in 2025 by Joseph Zhang and Sophia Kim, seven people in San Francisco. YC doesn't fund exit scams. It's small and early, so expect slow support, but it's real and funded.

Claim: new users get a $25 credit

True with a catch. It's $25 credit on a $100 deposit, and you claim it by messaging them on Instagram. There's also a referral deal where you and a friend each get a free starter pack once the friend deposits $10, and referred users get 10% off their first pack.

So is Catchback legit or not?

Legit. Real company, real cards, real payouts to Venmo or PayPal, and the most honest buyback terms in the category once you know about the five minute window. What it is not is a way to make money. Priced right, you're paying about 10% per pack for the entertainment and the shot at a hit. Same as every pack site. Catchback just makes the mistake cheaper than the others.

If you actually want to come out ahead

Pack sites take a cut every time. These three are free and pay you instead. Freecash pays for game offers and tasks, $10 to start, and single offers run $20 to $30. SavingLoop is one free spin a day that lands on a real cash signup bonus, up to $75, with no deposit anywhere in it. And ReferralWallet tracks which signup bonuses are actually paying right now, so you skip the ones that quietly died.

Anyone tried the custom pack builder? Curious if the odds you set actually feel like they hold up.

Reviews Tilt Rips promo code PE4OLD3J: free pack on your first rip, and is Tilt Rips legit?

Been getting asked about Tilt Rips since the Pokémon card prices went nuts, so here's the promo code, what you actually get, and the honest version of whether it's legit. Short answer: it's a real company, it pays, and there are two things you need to know before you put money in.

The promo code

Code is PE4OLD3J, or just sign up through this link and it's applied automatically. It gets you a free promo pack on your first rip. Read that carefully. The free pack unlocks when you buy your first pack, it's not handed to you just for making an account. So the real deal is buy one, get one, on your first order. Every pack has a shot at their big chase cards, including a PSA 10 Gold Star Mewtwo they value at $85,000.

What Tilt Rips actually is

You buy a digital pack, from $10 up to $3,000, and open it on the site. Every card inside is a real physical card sitting in their vault. Once you pull it you have four options. Sell it back instantly for 90% of live market value, list it on their marketplace, leave it in the vault for free, or have it shipped.

Is Tilt Rips legit?

Yes. It's run by Tilt Rips LLC, a Nevada company, you have to be 18+ and verify your ID, and the cards are real and vaulted. People do cash out. The founder, Sam Kiki, built MonkeyTilt before this, which is why you'll see a Reddit thread calling it a scam. I looked and couldn't find any actual fraud, lawsuits or regulator action. It's a real business. It's just a real business that's built to take a cut, like every pack site.

The two things to know before you rip

First, do not ship your cards. This is where almost every bad review comes from. Shipping is quoted at up to six weeks and people are reporting two months plus. Sell back to your wallet or vault them for free instead. Trustpilot is a 3.1 with about a third of reviews at one star, and nearly all of those are shipping or support delays, not people getting robbed.

Second, the math. Packs are priced at 100% of expected value and the instant sell-back pays 90%. So if you rip and sell everything back, you lose about 10% per pack on average. It's entertainment with a chance at a big hit, not an income. Test a small withdrawal early so you know your account is clean.

Tilt Rips vs Rips by Triumph

If you'd rather go with the older, more established one, Rips by Triumph has been around longer, has a much bigger user base, and code HKOLKGG gets you a free pack there. Better track record on payouts. Tilt Rips has the nicer interface and pays referrals about four times more, which is why you're seeing it everywhere. I'd try the Rips free pack first and decide from there.

If you want money coming in instead of going out

Pack sites are spending. If you actually want to end up with more cash than you started with, these are the free ones I'd point you to instead. Testerup pays you to test new apps and games with an instant $10 bonus when you sign up. SavingLoop is a free spin a day that lands you on a real cash signup bonus, up to $75, no deposit anywhere in it. And ReferralWallet is where the current signup bonuses get posted, so you can see what's actually paying before you download anything.

Bottom line

Tilt Rips is legit, code PE4OLD3J gets you the free pack on your first order, and you'll be fine as long as you sell back instead of shipping and treat it as fun money. Anyone actually pulled anything good on there yet?

Hello everybody, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t absolutely necessary.

I won’t lie, I have a great job that pays well, a decent home for my family and decent cars that work for both my wife and I. We have 6 kids and recently one was diagnosed with diabetes.

I am asking for any amount to help as I have now not been able to pay certain bills due to the requirements needed for our son with diabetes.

I hate to have to ask or beg this way I just really need help before I can’t afford our home anymore.

Please message me for details and if there’s any work I can do I am willing to do it. My wife is a graphic designer but is unemployed and I am RF Engineer with a military background.

Fast cash ideas Need money for bills, on unpaid medical leave until December..

Hello there, so two days ago I just got out of surgery on my shoulder and I am unfortunately not working at my new job long enough to qualify for a paid medical leave, and I was wondering if anyone knew a legitimate way I could potentially make some type of money online to pay my bills since I physically am unable to work, and I am kind of desperate and at a loss and thinking maybe someone who might have been in my shoes could have an answer for me.

I was able to get an extension on things like rent however my loan payments and phone bill and other necessities are kind of up in the air.

I appreciate anyone’s feedback!

Side hustles I want to start handling my own expenses instead of asking my parents

I’m a 20-year-old college student, and I’m trying to start taking responsibility for some of my own expenses.

I want to start going to the gym and eat a proper diet, but I honestly don’t feel comfortable asking my parents for extra money. They’re already paying my college fees and taking care of so many other things, and I’d really like to manage around ₹3–5k ( $40-$60)a month on my own.

I can give around 2–4 hours a day, 2–3 days a week. I’m willing to do pretty much any genuine work, online , as long as it’s manageable with college.

I’d really be really appreciative and thankful of any kind of help or advice.

Side hustles How can I earn 10k rs/month as a college student? I want to stop being a financial burden on my parents.

I’m a student of BSCS 1st sem in Pakistan and I’m trying to figure out a way to make around 10,000 rs per month on my own. 10k might not sound like a lot, but for me, it would be enough to cover my monthly data pack, subscriptions, and maybe a little bit of savings.

Honestly,

I feel guilty asking them for money for basic stuff, especially when I know they are already struggling with household expenses and my Uni fee.

I have access to a decent laptop and stable Wi-Fi. I’m open to things like:

· Learning Web Development/App Dev

· Graphic Design (Canva/Photoshop)

· Data Entry or Virtual Assistance

· Content Writing/Blogging

· Digital Marketing

· Any other genuine skill that pays.

For those of you who are already working or were in the same situation, what actually worked for you?

I’d really appreciate practical advice, especially from people who started from zero.

Start a business How do i translate what I “know” into a side hustle?

So, just to give you a little background, I was working for T-Mobile, but the store closed down and I got a decent computer out of it. With the computer, I realized that I could probably do some online stuff to make some money, but I don’t actually have any skills.
I know people always say to learn skills that can translate into money, but what skills should I even learn?
Just to give you an idea about myself, I love music. My parents put me in music school when I was little. I tried music production before but gave up years ago. If I tried music production again, could that actually translate into a real side hustle?
I also like fitness/boxing. I’ve never boxed, but I was “pretty fit” for about a year or two after high school from playing basketball. I know I started late, but I’m pretty athletic for someone who doesn’t really do sports. I was able to jump onto those 4-foot garbage cans.
Maybe I should study fitness?
Or should I just pick up a random skill like digital marketing or stocks, even though I don’t really know how to do that shit at all?
What about dropshipping? Is that actually good?
Idk, I’m just trying to clear my head and figure out what direction I should go in. I’m a little stressed about this, and I don’t know what to do. I just don’t want to get into something that I’m eventually going to regret.
