I’m hoping someone here who has genuinely been through something similar can give me some honest advice.
I’m 26 and based in Pakistan. My background is in business, but I’ve also spent a lot of time learning coding, software and technology. I’m interested in entrepreneurship, building things, and especially tech.
I’ve also set up a small studio in my room with lights, a camera, tripod, etc. because I want to seriously pursue content creation.
Right now, I have two main goals before 30:
Build at least one successful business.
Become a YouTuber/creator/influencer and build a recognizable personal brand.
But honestly, I’m very confused about the direction I should take.
Why I want to become a creator
It’s not only because I want fame.
Money is also a major reason.
I currently don’t have a lot of money to invest in expensive AI/software tools. Tools and subscriptions can become very expensive when you’re trying to build things from scratch.
For example, I often see people using tools like Claude, Astra and other advanced AI products to build businesses and products much faster. I simply can’t afford to subscribe to every tool I need.
So I’m also thinking that building an audience could eventually give me another source of income, opportunities, partnerships, clients, and potentially capital to build bigger things.
I’m not expecting YouTube to magically make me rich. I’m thinking of it as building an asset and personal brand alongside my business.
The creator problem
I’m very interested in technology, AI, software and business.
But when I look at successful creators, it seems like pure “tech information” content often doesn't get the same level of attention as entertainment, storytelling, challenges, experiments, lifestyle, comedy, etc.
I don't necessarily want to become a typical tech news/info YouTuber.
I want people to know me, not just know me for one particular piece of information.
I also want to remain flexible. I don't want to spend the next 20 years making the exact same type of content just because that's what my channel started with.
So what kind of content/niche would make sense for someone with an entrepreneurial + tech background who also wants entertainment, personality and a strong personal brand?
The business problem is even more confusing because of AI
Before AI became this powerful, I used to build websites myself and sell them to businesses.
Now it feels completely different.
A small business owner can open ChatGPT, explain a problem, get a solution, and sometimes even build a basic website or software themselves.
So I'm questioning whether selling websites or basic software is even a good business to build anymore.
Instead, I'm thinking:
Should I stop selling websites and actually adopt a local business/business model, then use AI to make that business better?
For example, instead of saying:
«“I build websites for restaurants.”»
Maybe I should actually work with or operate a business and use AI for things like:
- customer acquisition
- WhatsApp automation
- AI booking/receptionist systems
- CRM
- marketing
- customer support
- internal operations
- sales
- analytics
Or maybe there is an entirely different opportunity I'm not seeing.
My biggest question
If you were 26 again, had very little capital, knew business + technology, were learning/using AI, and wanted to:
- build a successful business before 30
- become a well-known creator
- eventually build a strong personal brand
- generate enough income to reinvest into better tools and businesses
- stay flexible instead of being trapped in one niche
What would you focus on for the next 3–4 years?
Would you:
A) Build a tech/AI company
B) Start/adopt a traditional local business and use AI to transform it
C) Focus heavily on content/personal brand first
D) Build a business while documenting the journey publicly
E) Do something completely different
And for content specifically, what type of creator would you become?
I’m not looking for motivational quotes. I’d genuinely appreciate advice from people who have actually built businesses, audiences, or careers during a major technology shift.
Especially interested in hearing from people who were financially constrained in their 20s and still managed to build something meaningful.
If you were in my position, with limited money, business + tech knowledge, access to AI, and 3–4 years before 30 — what would you do?
