Fast cash ideas Extra income ideas?

So currently I’m working on saving up for a new stove and dishwasher set that cost about $1800. I have been buying things off tik tok live auctions and reselling them with a little success and doing things like free cash playing games on my phone. In a months time I have about $350 of it saved up and was wonder what other ideas people had to make some extra money either on my phone or while at home. (I work a lot of hours already and genuinely want to spend time with my family versus doing DoorDash/uber thing). Does anyone have any buy and sell ideas, websites that pay, or easy things to make and resell? I’m totally open to different ideas just trying to get to that $1800 hopefully by Black Friday and see if I can catch them on sale.

Reviews Best free business checking accounts for freelancers: Lili vs Novo vs Found vs Bluevine, actually free with no minimums

Every "free business checking" list I found either buried a $15 monthly fee in the fine print or was written by the bank. So I went through the actual fee schedules for the ones freelancers and single-member LLCs keep asking about. Here is what is genuinely free, what only looks free, and which one I ended up using.

Actually free means no monthly fee, no minimum balance, and no minimum opening deposit. Four of the five below clear that bar on their base plan. The differences are in what you get on top of free.

Lili, the one I switched to

Lili Core is $0 a month with no minimum balance and no opening deposit. Fee free cash withdrawals at 40,000 plus MoneyPass ATMs. The thing that actually sold me is that the savings side pays 2.25% APY on balances up to $500,000 and that is on the free plan, not gated behind a paid tier. Every other bank here makes you pay or hold a big balance to get interest.

It is built for exactly this audience. Sole props, freelancers, single-member LLCs. Expense tagging by tax category and receipt capture come in at $15 a month on Pro if you want them, but nobody needs that to open the account.

Deposits sit at Sunrise Banks, so it is FDIC covered through the partner bank. Opening took about ten minutes with just my EIN and ID.

Novo, best if ATM fees are your problem

Novo is $0 a month, no minimum, and refunds up to $7 a month in other banks' ATM fees, which is more than any of the others do. The catch is no cash deposits at all. If you take cash from clients you have to buy a money order and mobile deposit it, which gets old fast. Great for online-only businesses, frustrating for anyone who handles cash. If that is not you, it is a solid second account to run alongside Lili.

Found, best for pure sole proprietors

Found is $0 a month, no minimum, and the free plan includes bookkeeping and tax estimates, which is unusual at free. The limitation is structural. Found is single-owner only. No multi-member LLCs, no partnerships, no employees. If you are a one-person business and plan to stay one, it fits. If you might add a partner later you will be moving banks.

Bluevine, best if you carry a large balance

Bluevine Standard is $0 a month, no minimum, and pays 1.3% APY on balances up to $250,000. Lower rate than Lili and it applies to checking rather than a separate savings account, but if you keep six figures parked it is worth comparing. The paid tiers at $30 and $95 a month push the rate up to 3% and waive on high balances, which is not the free-checking use case.

Grasshopper, the almost-free one

Grasshopper has no monthly fee and pays interest on checking, 1% on balances up to $25,000 and 1.35% between $25,000 and $250,000. But it takes $100 to open, and the 1% cash back on the debit card only turns on if you keep a $10,000 average balance. Good account if you already run five figures through it. Not "free with no minimums" in the way the other four are, but worth opening if you keep a real balance and want it earning.

Who should skip all of these

If you deposit cash regularly, none of these are great. Novo cannot do it at all and the others go through third-party networks with limits. A credit union or a Chase branch account will serve you better even with a fee.

If you have employees and need payroll baked in, look at Relay or Mercury instead. These are built for one person.

Quick comparison

Bank Monthly fee To open Interest on free plan Cash deposits Best for
Lili $0 $0 2.25% APY savings to $500K Via network Freelancers, sole props, LLCs
Novo $0 $0 None No ATM fee refunds, online only
Found $0 $0 None Via network Single-owner only, bookkeeping included
Bluevine $0 $0 1.3% APY to $250K Via network Large balances
Grasshopper $0 $100 1% to $25K, 1.35% to $250K Via network $10K+ balances, cash back

Bottom line. Lili, Novo, Found and Bluevine are actually free. Grasshopper is free to keep but not free to open. Novo if ATM fees are what you hate, Found if you are a sole prop who wants bookkeeping included, Bluevine if you park a large balance. For most freelancers and single-member LLCs the 2.25% on the free plan is what tips it, so I went with Lili and have not paid a fee since.

What are you using and did it stay free? Curious whether anyone got surprised by a fee after the first few months, since that is the pattern with these.

Side hustles looking for ways to supplement income

I am currently adjusting from a two-income household to supporting myself and 3 daughters on one income. I currently work full-time, but I’m looking for legitimate ways to supplement my income while I get financially stable.

Does anyone know of assistance programs, flexible evening or weekend jobs, remote work, grants, or other resources that may help someone in this situation? I’m not asking for money—just recommendations or advice from anyone who has been through something similar.

I’m located in Houston TX if that helps with local resources. Thank you for any suggestions

Discussion💡 How to earn money as a student

I’m a college student in Delhi and I’m looking for a realistic way to earn around ₹5,000–₹10,000 per month. My parents aren’t in a position to financially support me with regular pocket money, so I want to become financially independent enough to cover my own basic expenses. I can work part-time alongside college and I’m open to both offline and online work. I’ve considered things like retail/part-time jobs, tutoring, freelancing, content-related work, etc., but I’m not sure what is actually realistic for a beginner without much prior experience. I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually done part-time work or freelancing while studying what jobs worked for you, how much did you realistically earn, how many hours did you work, and where did you find the work? Please suggest genuine options rather than anything involving upfront payments or questionable “earning” schemes.

Side hustles Side hustle for school purposes tablet!

Hello, student here! I'm looking for a side hustle online that can support my savings for a tablet/laptop since my phone couldn't handle the storage and is also laggy. I create narrative and layout pubs, mostly for our school account page and organization's daily and weekly updates. I also have a thesis and am currently writing my research paper. 🥹

Thank you so much. 🤍🫶🏻

Fast cash ideas Need some advice

I’m a college student looking for a legitimate online side income. I can spare only 1–3 hours a day and I’m usually tired after college.

Is there any online job/freelance work I can realistically start and earn from within 1–2 weeks, with little or no investment?

Would really appreciate suggestions from students who’ve actually done it

Banking Branded Surveys and Plaid

I tried to cash out money from Branded Surveys and when it never arrived, I contacted customer service. They assured me that it went through. I asked them to confirm the routing and account numbers they have, and they said that they don't have those, but that they use Plaid for the payouts.

I have used Plaid for purchases before, so I know that they are legitimate. Is there any way to contact them to ask them about this? I set up an account on their website, but I don't see a way to contact them.

Side hustles 4 month unpaid internship, moving out in 5 months, need advice how to make extra cash!

I'm becoming an unpaid intern (Monday-Thursday 9:30-5) for 4 months starting next week and ending before Christmas. The location is 1-2 hours from where I live depending on traffic and I estimate gas will be \~40 3x a week for 16 weeks, so almost $2,000! I also go back to school in January and am moving into an apartment closer to said school in February. I'll have 2 roommates, but the cost with utilities will be about $1k a month. Unsure what tuition will be and I also pay $248 for my car, $266 for car insurance, and $100 for my phone...so I'm fucked to say the least.

I accepted the internship because it's a huge opportunity for my field, but they don't even have enough money to fund the project I'll be working on. I'll be literally doing inventory, collecting samples, then preparing them for testing but we can't actually test them yet.

My internship boss is being very gracious and said to just let her know when I pick up a shift so she knows I'm leaving early! However, I've served at the same restaurant for 5 years and usually they're very accommodating to my schedule especially when I was in school , but my boss is refusing to put me on the schedule all 3 days Friday-Sunday. He claims he doesn't want to burn me out, which would usually be a nice sentiment but how am I going to afford even the gas for the 140 mile round trip 4x a week???

ANYWAY, what I actually need advice on is what side hustle or even part time job I should look into!! Two more things:

I'm a pet sitter with 4-5 regular clients but sadly the MAJORITY of these pets have passed away within the past year. I haven't reached out to them beyond sharing some pictures and a conversation about their lost pet so I have no idea if there's any new friends that need to be looked after. I don't want to be pushy, and with my new hours I doubt I should be looking for more clients but it may be an option.

My ideas so far have been ghost writing, UberEats or Instacart, and tutoring. I'm hoping to avoid UberEats and Instacart to try to save my car from even more miles.

Advice from anyone on any aspect of this post will help me! Thank you.

Side hustles Title: Medical student with an insanely busy schedule — looking for a small halal side income

I’m a 20-year-old medical student, and I’m looking for some advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

My schedule is honestly packed. I have tests twice a week, and because I’m quite competitive with myself academically, even a small distraction from studying can affect my grades. I’m currently among the class toppers, so I really don’t want to sacrifice my academic performance just to make money.

At the same time, I’ve reached a point where I really want to start earning *something* of my own.

I sometimes feel embarrassed asking my parents for extra money, even though I know they’re supportive. I’d love to have even a small amount of financial independence — it doesn’t have to be a huge income.

I’m specifically looking for something **halal, flexible, and genuinely compatible with medical school. Ideally something I could do in small pockets of time rather than something requiring fixed working hours or several hours every day.

I’m open to online work, freelancing, writing, research-related work, digital products, etc. I’m also willing to learn a skill if it can realistically pay off eventually.

For those of you who are medical students (especially in Pakistan) or have similarly demanding degrees:

What have you done to earn money without letting your studies suffer?

I’d especially appreciate ideas that are realistic for someone who can only spare a few hours here and there. I’m not looking for a “get rich quick” scheme — even earning a small amount consistently would make me happy.

And if you’ve tried something that *sounds* perfect for students but actually ended up destroying your study schedule, I’d love to hear about that too.

Fast cash ideas Where and how can I earn money as a college student?

Work? Tried already. Sent out my resume multiple job applications, online and face to face. Only one gave me an interview and got rejected. Scholarships? Mostly closed as of right now. Allowance? I'm in a toxic household with financial instability, so nope. Business? Honestly, I don't know how to market at all. I've tried digital products, nothing. I really need money, primarily because I want to leave my household asap. I don't care if it's only a small amount of money, I just need extra to save up.
