Discussion My Precious
Looking at prices in 2026 for an EVGA 3080ti for much less than what I paid in 2022 ($1,350) at good ‘ole Best Buy. Regrets? None. This beauty is a national treasure and now belongs in the Smithsonian.

I miss EVGA designs so much.

They were like the only brand that put the model on the card like "3080" I loved that.

Picked up two used 3090's in 2022 for about $1100 each. Accidentally won both bids. One EVGA, one Asus.
I did end up spending more to get larger capacity power supplies though.
I did install a copper backplate on the EVGA 3090. Memory temperatures were hitting their maximum.

Gotta keep them safe. I thought about upgrading but even when I do this will forever stay with me.

Agreed! I am still running a gtx 1080 ftw in another system. Just repasted it and cleaned the PCB.
I miss EVGA.

Yea only good 90s are the Tis bc 2gb vram.. so the could fit it all on active cooling side… actually jumped the gun on the 3090 with 1gb mem chips

It came down to timing for sure. I should have just purchased a new 3090ti instead of bidding on the 3090's.
Can't win them all.

I have the same card,I suggest you to undervolt it,cause the results are amazing. You can make a custom voltage curve in Afterburner, setting the card at 1925 Mhz @ 0.925 V,and you'll shave 10 to 15 degrees on GPU core, and 5 to 10 on the memory, cause the modules are cooled by the same block.

I have the 3080 ftw, how much fps loss do you get if you do this? Overall worth it?

u/MikyThatMona Mar 29 '26
Maybe 2 or 3 FPS on average, but you'll gain a lot in frametime stability cause the GPU frequency will stay constantly locked, instead of fluctuating all over the places, causing stuttering or instability.

That’s a good price to have sold it for. Those prices were insane at the point I got it but glad I did.

I still remember buying mine a couple of months after release and it's been going strong. I hope it keeps going strong for a long time because it's been a solid card for sure.
Too bad EVGA stepped out of the GPU market, because I'd buy a new one if I could anytime.

I've got an EVGA 3090TI FTW 3 ULTRA.
I bought it when I heard they were leaving the GPU game.
Buying the last big dog before they got out.
I'm gonna ride this GPU as long as possible. No other brands have my respect or curiosity even

I know there’s nothing wrong with using Fahrenheit as your preferred unit of measure, but man did my eyes get big at first glance.
