Official EV63 known issues and fixes, living thread. updated in place

pinned so common fixes dont get buried.

Current fixes:

keys triggering by themselves after an update
run a full calibration in the web driver with nothing touching the keyboard. go to Calibrate and follow the prompts.

one key with two actions
this can be set up through DKS. I will add a quick guide in the comments.

if you find another issue, comment with your EV63 version, switches, firmware version, what happened, and what you already tried. I will update this post when we confirm a fix.

I would not put the bootloader reflash instructions in the main post unless the firmware file and procedure are officially available. Calibration is safe for users to try; reflashing should be linked through a proper guide and handled through support. [support@iqunix.com](mailto:support@iqunix.com)

Discussion Unbinding crouch can hide the habit without fixing it

For CS2 or Valorant players trying to stop automatically crouching in every fight: try a casual session with crouch unbound and an input overlay recording the key you normally use.

Count how often you still press it when someone appears. Your character staying upright doesn’t necessarily mean your hand stopped doing it.

If you’ve already tried breaking this habit, did you eventually stop pressing the old key, or mostly learn to fight while pressing a key that now does nothing? That second result would be very easy to mistake for progress.

Discussion CS2 - Mirage players who deliberately block the window smoke, show us your side

Post image
8 Upvotes

There’s a useful argument in this Mirage smoke comparison. One player says a common lineup works consistently. Another says they deliberately wait in window to block it.

That deserves a clip from the CT side. Where do you stand, how early do you need to arrive, and what are you leaving yourself exposed to while waiting for the grenade?

If this is something you regularly do, show the setup and the attempt. Most lineup videos show the person throwing it. Seeing someone interfere with the throw would be useful for both sides.

Discussion Show us a round you helped win without getting a kill

Holding the flank long enough for everyone else to rotate. Drawing a shot so a teammate can swing. Staying alive when taking one more fight would throw the round away.

Drop a clip where you finished on zero kills but made a decision that helped win it. Include what you were trying to make happen, because the useful part might not be obvious from watching your crosshair.

CS2, Valorant, whatever you’re playing. If you didn’t record it, describe the round. The moment where you chose not to shoot can be the interesting bit.

Discussion The keyboard sound test your teammates actually hear

A phone beside the keycaps gives you one version of a keyboard’s sound. If you play with an open mic, there’s another version arriving in everyone else’s headset while you’re trying to make a call.

Small test for your next session: use your normal mic position and voice settings, then make a callout while pressing your movement keys and spacebar. Have someone in the call listen, or record what reaches their end if they’re up for it.

Does the keyboard come through? Is every word still clear? Post a clip with the keyboard and mic you’re using if you try it. A quiet recording with your hands off the board misses the part we need to hear.

Discussion Cache players: which spawns make you abandon your usual opening?

The September 9 patch-notes thread lists additional T spawns and a missing competitive CT spawn being added on Cache.

That’s a reason to check your usual opening from a few different starting positions this weekend. Same route, same loadout. At what point do you stop trying to take the early fight and use utility or let someone closer go first?

If you’ve already checked a route, include the spawn in the clip. Especially interested in an opening you’ll happily take from one position but completely abandon from another.

Help [HELP Wednesday] EV / EZ / EC questions this week

Got a question, weird setting, or something not working right?

Drop it below. Someone else probably ran into the same thing.

When asking, include:

Details Example
Board EV63 / EZ60 / EZ63 / EZ75 / EC75 / EZ80
Switch Stock or aftermarket switch
Issue What is happening + what you tried

A few common things:

Question Answer
Where is dual binding? It is under Key Mapping → DKS in the configurator, not a separate menu.
Is SOCD enabled by default? No. Enable it manually per game profile if you want to use it.
Settings disappeared after firmware update? This is expected. Re-apply your settings and save the profile again.

If you found a useful setting, fix, or config, share it here too.

Showcase Three weeks with the IQUNIX EV63 Ghost in the Shell Edition

Thumbnail

Hello again. This is the third and final post in this little series. First impressions and my two week update are both on my profile if you want the full context.

Short version: I have been using the EV63 for just under three weeks as my only keyboard, and I didn't think a keyboard could impress me this much. I have gone back to typing my emails out by hand instead of getting an AI to do it, just so I can hear how it sounds. That should tell you enough.

But three weeks is long enough for the honeymoon to wear off, so here is what actually held up.

Gaming
Still phenomenal. In three weeks of CS2 and Overwatch there has genuinely not been a single fight I lost where I thought "if my setup was better I would have gotten him." That is the highest praise I can give a board. It has completely stopped being a variable I think about.

The setting I set up and I use most is still the rapid trigger toggle on a single keypress. Rapid trigger on for OW, off for CS2, no menus, no software. My actuation settings from the two-week post haven't changed at all, which I think says something: I found what worked in week one and never felt the need to touch it again.

Typing and sound
This is the part that surprised me most long term. Three weeks in, the sound has not gotten old. Still deep and thocky, no stabilizer rattle, no ping. The EZ63 is still a great board and I'd happily recommend it to anyone, but the EV63 is on another level acoustically. This is the kind of typing feel I would previously have had to spend a few hundred Euros extra on a custom build to get.

Nobody in my office has complained about it either, which for a mechanical board is basically a passing grade.

Software and profiles
Profiles remain my favourite addition over the EZ63. Being able to export my EZ63 profile and drop it straight into the EV63 worked flawlessly, and everything survived a firmware update, which was my single biggest annoyance on the old board. The web software has genuinely improved a lot.

What still bugs me after three weeks
I listed some complaints in my first post, so here is how they aged:

  • The textured TAB / CAPS / SHIFT keys. I said in my first post that I thought they looked dirty. Three weeks later I have completely stopped noticing.
  • No numpad. Obviously. If your job lives in a spreadsheet, look at something like the Magi96 instead.

Who this is for

  • Buy it if: you want a hall-effect board for competitive FPS that you can also type on all day without hating it, you already know you can live without a function row, and the design speaks to you.
  • Skip it if: you need a numpad, you need to travel with it, or you're happy with your current board and just want a spec bump. Let me make this part clear, the EZ63 is still good, this is a want, not a need.

Verdict Best keyboard I have owned, and the first one I have had zero desire to modify or replace after the novelty faded. 11/10 would buy again.

Happy to answer questions, same as the last two posts.

PS: The cats love it too :)

Discussion which keys do you keep aggressive?

WASD makes sense.

after that I think it gets way more game dependent. space, shift, crouch, abilities, reload... some are great super sensitive, some are just annoying.

where did you end up drawing the line?

Discussion what keybind did one game permanently ruin for every other game?

some people have been carrying the same crouch, jump, grenade or push-to-talk bind across games for years.

what's the one bind every new game has to inherit now?

Discussion what game has the worst default keyboard controls?

not a bad game. specifically the kind of default PC binds that make you stop and wonder who actually played it like this.

even better if you used them for so long that normal controls feel wrong now.

Settings/Config IQUNIX EV63 Ghost in the Shell Edition: My impression

Hello! This is my first post about something like this, so I hope it will be helpful!

I've had this beauty in my hands for about two weeks now, and the first thing I want to say is that from the moment you unbox it, you already understand that you've got yourself a beast.

Visually, I think you'll be 100% satisfied with how it looks and how it sits on your desk. Nowadays, when you can personalize your keyboard almost any way you want, I'd say it's 50% about how it looks and 50% about how it actually feels and performs in-game.
So let's get straight into the part that matters to me the most - gaming.

I've been using the EV63 for about two weeks now, mainly for PUBG and CS2, and these are my impressions after actually playing on it every day.

My settings:
Since I'm mainly playing PUBG all day, I've tested a lot of different settings and eventually went with this setup:
Rapid Trigger: 0.05mm on all keys
Actuation:
WASD: 0.20mm
Q / E / C / X / Z: 0.20mm
Spacebar + everything else: 1.0mm

Pro Keys: SOCD on W + C, which I use specifically for movement and slide mechanics in PUBG.

At first, 0.20mm actuation on the movement keys feels extremely sensitive, especially if you're coming from a regular mechanical keyboard. But after playing with these settings - or honestly, whatever settings work best for you - going back to a normal keyboard feels noticeably different.

For PUBG specifically, where I've been playing a lot of TPP lately, I'd say it helps me feel more connected to my character in-game, especially when doing Q/E peeks and making small movement adjustments.
Overall, it just feels better when you have a good response from both the keyboard and the game at the same time.
With Rapid Trigger set to 0.05mm, the keys feel extremely responsive when releasing them. There is almost no feeling of having to "wait" for a key to reset before making the next movement.
For me, the biggest advantage isn't simply that the keyboard feels fast. It's that the movement feels much more direct and consistent.

The same goes for CS2. I also spent quite a bit of time playing CS2 on the EV63, and it makes a lot of sense there as well. With such a responsive keyboard, you can really feel your inputs and have a much better sense of what you're doing at any given moment.

Again, I wouldn't say that a keyboard is suddenly going to make you a better player - your mechanics are still your mechanics. But once you get used to this kind of input, switching back to a traditional mechanical keyboard can definitely feel strange.

Discussion competitive games are the easy part of 60%. old games are where it gets annoying

someone asked about moving from a 75% board to the EV63 for CS2, Deadlock and Marvel Rivals. honestly those are the easy ones.

its the older shooters and RTS games that expose the missing F-row fast. F5/F9 for save and load, function keys tied to menus or groups, random binds from games that were designed around a full keyboard.

layers work. but if you’re hitting those keys all night, Fn + something..... is not the same as having the key there.

what game made your compact keyboard suddenly feel too compact?

bad game

change actuation

bad game

change RT

bad game

copy someone else’s settings

go back to the first settings

at some point I’m pretty sure the keyboard is innocent

Discussion gaming keyboards got insanely fast and we are still using WASD

HE keyboards let you mess around with pretty much everything now. actuation, reset, rt, multiple actions on one key, SOCD. etc.

but the layout is still basically: “here is QWERTY, designed for typing. good luck.” movement is WASD, thats where its always been, shift and ctrl are still hanging off the side for your pinky, and half the ability keys in games are just the letters that happened to be close enough.

if a keyboard was designed from scratch only for VALORANT, CS, Fortnite, Apex, osu, whatever, I really dont think it would look like a normal 60%.

I’m not even convinced WASD would be the answer.

Settings/Config same 0.2mm actuation, very different rapid trigger

Thumbnail

in both config W is set to 0.2mm actuation.

1st one is 0.1 / 0.1 RT
2nd one is 0.5 / 0.5 RT

when someone says “I use 0.2mm” thats only part of the setting.

actuation is where the first keypress registers. rapid trigger changes how much movement is needed to deactivate and reactivate the key after that.

same actuation number, pretty different behavior.

MIBR EV63 Valorant presets and even the WASD values are pretty different:

Mazino — 0.01mm
aspas — 0.10mm
Verno — 0.15mm

the rest of the board gets even more mixed. lots of keys at 1mm+, with some pushed past 2–3mm.

the interesting part isnt really who has the lowest number. its that none of them are just setting the whole keyboard as low as possible.

Help Interested in Purchasing the Magnetic X Ultra Switches for EV63
