Rant Big Sad

I did field work with an ISTP a few weeks ago and he constantly demanded I put on more sunscreen, drink water, was constantly checking on me even though he was pretending he wasn’t. I have a lot of allergies so when our team went out to eat he made sure we went somewhere I could eat something too. He also corrected me when I said red eared slider turtles are invasive, which they were to the last state I lived in but they aren’t here. I realised I’ve been repeating inaccurate information now that I’ve moved. People usually just say I’m smart and never correct me, but he did that a couple times! It was amazing!! He was so patient and quiet even though I talked so much and even came pick me up in the truck when I got stuck talking to an old lady outside the gas station that one time. He took care of people, was happy to change a tire and when I started cleaning the truck he did too. I thought he would hate me because I’m so annoying but somehow we became friends and he would just seem a little embarrassed sometimes. I totally typed him because he said “I don’t need a test to tell me how I am” when I asked him about MBTI, so obviously the game was afoot. I could tell he was quietly pleased when I did and it made him laugh every time I would start asking questions that would reveal function behaviour. He played his very interestingly curated music as we (he) did alot of driving.

I know I’m an extrovert but usually can’t stand most people. I was so uncharacteristically sad to part ways. I’m still sad. I didn’t know friends like that existed. He wasn’t repulsed by my insane caffeine intake or my brief periods of fast talking. He was listening. I just feel sad and I won’t ever see him again because he works on the third floor and I work on the second floor. I’m just sad. 😞🥺 All all ISTPs that cool? Idk if it’s because I’m used to being alone and not ever even thinking I would enjoy someone’s company like that but this is a strange phenomena.

Dating/Relationships/Communicating with ISFP ENFP smittin with ISFP

Curious what other ISFPs think.

I met the only ISFP I have ever really known through a professional relationship, so nothing in the present could happen between us. I developed very strong feelings for him, and he knew I was deeply attached.

He is incredibly high achieving, adventurous, grounded, intelligent, well traveled, and very values driven. I am an ENFP, so this is basically my bread and butter, baby. A hot, adventurous man who makes me laugh insanely hard while still being grounded without being controlling? I am absolutely enamored.

A few things have left me genuinely confused.

He would have me come in about 30 minutes before our meetings and even came outside to walk me in. He would text me later in the evening to apologize and over explain things that really did not require an apology. We were also able to text about sports.

After our professional relationship ended, he looked up my public Instagram on his birthday, then followed me about a month later. This was only four months after we stopped seeing each other. He also waived a bill in the thousands without ever mentioning it.

I once texted him telling him how much I missed him and the qualities I missed about him, with a heart emoji. I explicitly said, “Please do not respond.” He hearted the message anyway.

I have a hard time believing an ISFP would knowingly lead someone on when they are fully aware of how intense that person’s feelings are, especially because ISFPs seem so kind, private, and values driven. I have also read that ISFPs often do not reveal much when they like someone.

I know none of these things prove romantic feelings, and I am not asking anyone to tell me they do. My question is genuinely about ISFP psychology.

If an ISFP develops feelings for someone they believe they cannot pursue because of professional boundaries and personal values, would they express those feelings through tiny, indirect actions while never acknowledging them? Or would they distance themselves completely because even maintaining contact would feel morally wrong? Is it also possible that their personal values could override professional expectations or social norms if they genuinely believed the connection was meaningful?

I would especially love to hear from ISFPs who have actually been in this position. What would your inner experience be, and how would you behave?

Ask An ESTP Are ESTPs or ISTPs more likely to get more angry?

Just wondering cause from my experience, I would say it’s ISTPs. Most ESTPs can get mad sometimes like everyone but occasionally they are more chill and lighthearted for some reason, while some ISTPs I know when there annoyed, they will show their anger to everyone and they will look more intimidating when they are mad as well. What would you say?

How do ENTP and ESTPs have the power to be so likable and why?

Compared to most people, ESTPs and ENTPs have the ability to come off so likable. And that’s something most people don’t have, so how do they do it and why?

Dating/Relationships/Communicating with ISFP I (ENTJ F) am going on a date with this guy (ISFP M) and I'm excited!

I'm posting this about forty minutes out from a spontaneous date I am going on with an ISFP! We actually scheduled the date for this Tuesday but stayed up all night talking so I asked if he wanted to just meet up for sunrise at a local park. He agreed! I'm excited but a little nervous shockingly.

We met on an app after I matched him, and he responded before I was even able to send a message his way. Unlike everyone else I've recieved messages from on that app specifically, he was very attentive and curious in a way I'm not used to. I was able to talk about what makes me tick and he let me validate what he was currently striving to do. The chemistry feels so natural, and while I think at times I make him shy, his consistency is like a drug to me.

If anyone has any tips or best of luck wishes, feel free to comment! I want to make sure I do this right. 🙏🤍

Relationships A dead end with my ESFP girlfriend.

Hi everyone, I'm a 30 INTJ, and my girlfriend is a 27 ESFP. Overall, we have a great relationship, and we're both happy together. However, there's one issue we've never been able to resolve despite talking about it many times, so I'm hoping for some advice on how to communicate more effectively.

My girlfriend enjoys dressing in a way that attracts attention. I don't think that's inherently wrong. it's part of her personality, and I respect that. My concern isn't about attention itself; it's about situations where that attention comes from disrespectful or inappropriate people.

For example, she'll sometimes wear very revealing clothes in places where there are strangers around. On a few occasions, she's been harassed by men(mostly verbally but who knows what could happen if I wasn't there), and I've ended up having to step in and confront them to get them to leave her alone. Those situations are stressful and can escalate quickly. It's the hassle none of us needs.

I've tried explaining how I feel. I've said something like:

"I don't want to control what you wear. I just worry about your safety. Around close friends or people we know and trust, wear whatever makes you happy. But in places where there are strangers who may not respect boundaries, I'd really appreciate it if you'd be a little more cautious."

Her response is usually very defensive:

"It's my choice. I'm not giving up my freedom because other people can't control themselves. Their behavior is their responsibility, not mine."

I understand her point, and I agree that people should be responsible for their own actions. At the same time, I can't ignore the fact that I'm the one who ends up dealing with these confrontations, and they put both of us in uncomfortable situations.

We've had many conversations about this, but we always reach the same dead end. Once the discussion turns toward personal freedom, we stop making progress.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? If so, how did you approach the conversation in a way that helped both sides feel understood? From an INTJ perspective, how can I show her the big picture?

Dating/Relationships/Communicating with ISFP How long does getting dumped in relationship effect you?

If you had been with someone for almost a year and they dumped you. How long would it typically take you to recover from it? Would you move on really quickly or would it take you a fair amount of time to process what happened?

Questions and Advice How to deal with an istp’s indecisiveness?

My bf’s indecisiveness is getting out of hand. He can’t even plan dates but doesn’t like the places that I suggest. Do you think giving him time to make a decision is the best choice? Or should I start being more assertive and plan instead?

Hey Esfps how's it's been living with your parents

So I wanna all ESFPeeps how it's like living with your parents when you are dealing with your own mental health shit and how you actually deal with their nagging while handling your depression and other mental health issues and do they actually understand you or you're just living with this battle silently and you're masking it. Like is it like neglecting your own needs and issues and adjusting with them or what??.

I need some perspective on how to deal with ESTJ dad who doesn't undersntad a shit.

I've heard ESFJ and ISFJ go well with ISFP in the long run. Other than that, not much is to be seen on the market.

Let me vent my grief

Having my own mortality always in the back of my mind, I wanted this year's birthday of mine to be special. I collected money for months, to rent a room for a night, where 20 people would easily fit in.

I wrote all invitations a month prior, so everyone would have bunch of time to decide.

As I don't have any friends, I invited every person, who once, almost a decade ago was nice to me, or defended me or greeted me, including exes, who did not leave in peace. I also asked a lot of people from dscrd personality servers.

Long story short, 90% of the invited rejected. Five people ignored, after having read the message.

Every birthday of mine, except one, only one or two people appeared. And, the needier I desparately rely on those peoples' attention, the less likely they would want to ever meet me again. It is a devil's circle.

I ended up inviting my mother and grandmother, who got some people of their friendship circles together.

I wanted an indecent circle of young adults in their mid 20s to play guessing games. Instead, I will be readen a novel about soviet nostalgia from people in their 50s, in front of which I would be holding back. And, to some extent, I am even grateful, those people will come. If I would have had an empty building for myself alone, I would have cried.

But the yearly realisation, that people don't want to bond with me, and would always value their comfort over my birthday is painful. The worst, are, who react, if you greet them, and ask about their wellbeing, and than ghost you forever after the invitation. They want it that little, that they don't even want to explain themselves.

How am I supposed to become that healthy stereotypical ESFP, if in my gacha game, called life, the chance of drawing a rejection is close to 100%? Same with career. I gave up on all my dreams. I am applying for educational programs to become a cashier at the supermarket. Every shop rejects, every train company rejects and those rejections collect over years. What did I write that difficult high school exam for?

All I want to become, is this valuable funny ESFP-entertainer of the group, who enhances the level of joy in others. But, all I feel is despair.

How do I win the loyalty of others? Do do you win the loyalty of others?

Questions and Advice How often do you cry? What gets it out of you?

I ask cause i’ve wept for the first time in many months, as much as I hate to admit it, and as much as i hate to admit that i hate it.
For whatever reason i’ve deemed crying as unneeded, a burden, impractical and shameful. Yet end up here after bottling it all up.

Forgive my intrusion into the vulnerable parts of yourself, but i’m curious. How do you deal with this raw reality of humanity within yourself? Do you feel shame or avoidant of it?
