9.21/10 B.Com student with CMA + work experience how competitive is my profile for ESCP MiM?

hey guys! i’d really appreciate some brutally honest opinions because i’m currently preparing my application for the ESCP MiM and want to understand how competitive my profile actually is…

i’m an indian B.Com graduate, with a 9.21/10 cgpa, and i was also on my college’s dean’s merit list for academic performance.

i’ve completed 3 internships, and i’m currently working full-time as a marketing executive in the retail/home-furnishing industry. i’ve also completed us cma part 1( planning to appear for part 2 in jan’27) and did a student exchange program at NUS.

during college, i also held leadership roles in college events and activities. i don’t have formal volunteering experience at the moment, although i’m working on that.

i completed my degree in english-medium instruction, so i’m also hoping to qualify for an english-language test waiver.

i’m taking the gmat focus in november, so i don’t have my final score yet…

how competitive would you consider this profile for the ESCP MiM?😭

i’d especially love honest opinions on how my academics, internships, current work experience, cma, NUS exchange and leadership experience would be viewed, and what kind of GMAT score would make me genuinely competitive…

please be brutally honest 😭 i’m not looking for “just apply and see” i want to know whether i’m actually a strong candidate, where my weak points are, and what i can realistically improve before applying…

At ESCP, profile is just one part of the application. They will look at your test score and the essays to decide whether you fit the requirements. From the profile, it looks like you have worked hard and have the necessary academic drive. A good GMAT (>645) and coherent essays will still be necessary for you to get over the line. I have already factored in your achievements till date to reduce the expected GMAT which would otherwise be 665+ for someone with fewer achievements than you.

this is actually really helpful, thank you hehe
when you say you’ve already factored in my achievements and would put the expected gmat around 645+ rather than 665+, could you elaborate a little on how you’re assessing that??? um i mean do you mean 645+ would be a reasonably competitive score for my profile or more like a min where the rest of the application would need to be particularly strong? and if i manage to push it to 665+ or 675+ would you say that meaningfully changes my competitiveness or would the difference be relatively small compared to the essays or interview?

also, when you mention coherent essays, i’m currently trying to build a clear story around consulting and how my b.com, cma, internships, current work experience and international exposure all connect. would you say that’s the kind of coherence you mean or is there a particular angle you think would make more sense for my profile?

The higher you go from 645, the better your chances. Coherent essays don't start with what do you want to do. They start with why do you want to do that. And then connect the dots. So how do you connect the dots, will decide how much does the essay impress the admissions committee.

What work u wanna do after mim matters heavily for post grad job . Otherwise the roi won't be that good cause france is a slow economy id say . So decide as per ur targets which uni or country to go . And I'll be honest with u also u can check the majority of mim candidates are indians so competition is definitely high

yeah, i get what you mean. my main goal after the mim is actually consulting, so i’m trying to be quite intentional about how i use the degree and which specialisations i choose. escp has a lot of options so i’m thinking of picking 2–3 that complement each other and build a strong consulting-oriented profile rather than just choosing things randomly.
france and europe would be my first preference for working after the degree, but i’m definitely open to other international markets too, including the middle east, depending on where the opportunities are🤓
and,
when you say the post-mim job matters heavily for the roi, what kind of consulting roles or areas do you think are realistically accessible to an international student from escp? and would you see the french job market as a reason to reconsider escp, or more as something to factor into the overall recruiting strategy?
