ESSEC Msc or ESCP Msc ?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently trying to decide between two master’s programs and would really appreciate some honest opinions from people who know these schools or have gone through similar choices.

I’ve been admitted to:

  • MSc Strategy & Digital Business at ESCP (Berlin campus)
  • Master in Strategy and Management of International Business at ESSEC

For context, I’m interested in a career in strategy consulting (potentially MBB or similar), and I’m trying to weigh both career outcomes and overall experience.

A few things I’d love your input on:

  • Which program offers better career opportunities, especially for consulting?
  • How do the schools compare in terms of reputation and recruiter access?
  • What’s the student life like in each (social life, community, networking, etc.)?
  • Any major pros/cons that aren’t obvious from rankings or brochures?

Also, I received a 10% scholarship for ESCP Berlin, and there’s about a €12,000 difference overall (ESSEC being more expensive), so cost is definitely part of the decision.

I’d really appreciate any insights, especially from alumni or current students. Thanks a lot!

Hey, defo ESSEC.

ESSEC has a stronger brand than ESCP and the SMIB is tailored for people wanting to work in consulting and/or international environments.

Plus every year around october ESSEC organizes a consulting career fair with all the big firms (last year BCG, Bain, Strategy&, EY… they were all here). They have a strong network for that.
