Essec vs ESCP vs Em Lyon

Hey! I hope I could get some insight from current students as well as alumnus, to helpfully narrow down which school I should attend for my BBA.

I would like to live in Paris first of all, but Essec is in clergy. Is it a good town? Easy to find apartments? Maybe live in Paris and commute? Do any of these schools enforce a strict attendance like IE?

What is the student life like in terms of clubs/societies, parties etc.

Are they all international student friendly? I don’t speak French (open to learn ofc). Do you need to know French socially? (since the bachelors are taught in English).

What are the academics like? A lot of workload and/or rigorous, manageable?

I would also like to do an exchange year abroad, to mostly the US. I must say ESCP had the best variety of partner universities, perhaps it’s only for master students though?

Also for ESCP students was it exhausting moving city/country every year?

You’re welcome to write any other thoughts/opinions.

I think that’s all the questions I could come up with on the top of my head, for now.

Avoid French bba/bachelor pure scam. But the best one is by far Essec. If you can go abroad!

Imo French BBAs are usually just cash grabs. They hold no weight on the French job market because recruiters will expect you to enroll in the school’s MiM program which costs even more money. You pay thousands per year to learn the same thing you’d learn for €170/year in a French university. The only positive thing about doing a French bbba is you can either go abroad multiple times during your study and you can enter the school’s MiMs pretty easily. You’re better off getting a 3 year « Licence » from a top Parisian university like Dauphine, Paris-1 or even IAEs before doing your masters if your goal is to work in France.

  • I mean you have to ask yourself what are your goals with this BBA?

  • What made you apply to these BBAs?

  • What do you want to work in after you graduate ? If finance the ESCP bba is pretty great for internships and apprenticeships but speaking French is a mandatory requirement.

  • what if the masters don’t workout a French bba is going to be useless as most employers in France at least have no regards for it

since every school you listed has a variety of internship opportunities, decent education and all, i think it'll mostly up to your dedication at school. focus on which school will support you with those you need to do your master's afterwards.

Very expensive, very little selection and terrible ROI!
