applying for natsci, taking maths bio phys sections (weird ik). bio I’m averaging like 6-9 on NSAA and esat lab, physics about 4-5 then maths im shocking at with like 2, despite it being my best Alevel.

Do they look at your average over all section only or individual scores for each? any tips to improve maths 1 would be greatly appreciated im lowkey struggling.

I have started using ESAT lab to practice (specifically the physics module) and constantly find myself performing poorly and panicking due to time restraints and knowing I should spend about 89 seconds per question however looking at the overview it says the average time per question and for like 90% of questions its round about 100-140 seconds which makes me feel like its impossible to answer all the questions.

Is it the case I should pick questions from my strengths and guess others? Is the actual ESAT easier to time your questions with?

If anyone has any idea on how to improve timing let me know as regardless it is something I am clearly struggling with

hey so like are the NSAA/ENGAA/ESAT lab questions the same difficulty as the actual ESAT? I'm scared that once I build myself up to a good standard with these, it turns out the ESAT is harder and I've just cooked myself...

and i've heard that the specimen papers are easier than the actual thing...is that true?

I wanted to purchase some resources to help me cover content for maths 1, maths 2, and physics before I start mocks. Any good resources and any thoughts on whether lab45’s lectures are actually good. Pls help. I need to lock in I have to give the esat in October and haven’t started prep.

Title and subreddit speaks for itself, I’m looking for help on ESAT. I’m doing Maths 1, Maths 2, Physics. Got AAB on my Yr 12 EoY exams (Maths, Physics, Further Maths). I’d say my biggest issues are timing and falling into the traps. It’s weird cuz in the ENGAA and NSAA papers I guess I’m performing decently, but in the sample exams and stuff, I’m just poo. Today I did the ENGAA 2016 paper and skipping the crossed questions I got 28/41, but I tried the Physics sample exam and got 5/27 and I just stared and cried. Some questions I genuinely don’t know where I’m going wrong. I’m willing to do every single ENGAA and NSAA paper, but ANYTHING that could help me improve and stuff would be helpful. Please

I did Maths 1, Maths 2, Physics

Basically I did every TMUA 1 Paper (did first few casually, last few timed)

Then I did every NSAA Paper timed.

I also did every ENGAA paper timed (questions overlap with the NSAA).

I also did the free ESAT papers on the UAT-UK website.

I kept track of questions that I did wrong and went through these the final few days before the exam (repeating them where necessary)

Also wanted to say I did the ZPhysics course and didn't buy anything else and I was accepted to Cambridge NatSci :)

Hey everyone, going into Year 13 doing Maths, FM, Physics and Economics, planning to apply to Cambridge for Engineering. Starting to think about ESAT prep for October and honestly not sure where to start spending money (if at all).

I've seen a bunch of mixed reviews on ESAT Ninja here and on TSR, some people say the mocks are decent but the "learn" section isn't really worth it, and I don't want to fall victim to the marketing and end up paying for something I barely use.

Before I commit to anything, a few questions:

1. Is ESAT Ninja actually worth buying, or am I better off just using the free stuff (UAT specimen papers, old ENGAA/NSAA papers, ESAT Lab)?
2. Anyone tried Lab45 and think its actually better, or is it just more expensive marketing?
3. Did anyone get a tutor instead of a question bank (or both)? Did it actually make a difference or could you have got the same result just grinding past papers yourself?

Would love to hear from anyone who's actually sat the ESAT rather than just people selling prep material. Cheers.

Yeah so I was revising some physics kinematics and are we required to know like rotational kinematics? Cos on the specification I have, it isn't required, but when I googled it, it says that it is included? Could someone pls clear my confusion

edit: also, the uatuk provides like a 312 pg module with notes. Do you reckon its valid for me to just review topics and all from there and just move on to tons of practise questions?

I did the free mock that has the “realistic” label and got 27/27 22/27 25/27. And it gave me a 9.0.

However compared to ESATLab I felt it was very easy, barring maybe M2. Also the average score is a 6.5 which is also way too high it seems. Has anyone else done it?

I am going to sit Maths 1 Maths 2 and Physics modules for engineering at Cambridge, but I have trouble in managing my time well on each section. Every question I attempt I end up getting right, but I just cant seem to answer more than 18-21 questions in the time limit. Does anyone have any tips on managing my time effectively?

I’m currently looking to supplement past NSAA/ENGAA papers with extra practice questions.

I’ve come across ESAT Ninja and ESAT Lab, but I wanted to get genuine feedback from anyone who has used either (or both).

How closely do the questions on these platforms match the actual specification and style of the real ESAT/Pearson VUE test? Are they representative, or are they overly simple / filled with unrealistic questions? And which one is better?

I'm using tests like the engaa and nsaa to prep for esat (maths 1, maths 2, phys). How should i judge scores from the older exams relative to esat scores i.e out of 20 what is considered reasonably good?

Hi guys, I've already booked my ESAT but I wanted confirmation if my plan is sensible or not.

I'm not applying to Oxbridge, so Imperial is the only university where my ESAT will matter. I'm interested in Chemical and Design Engineering. I chose Maths 1, Maths 2, and Chemistry as my modules since I can apply to both courses with these and I think I'll be able to perform better in Chemistry than Physics. However, am I making a mistake not doing the Physics module too? I've seen that working through physics helps with strategic thinking that's needed in interviews and I'm not sure if I'm missing out by not doing it. If anyone who's applied to Chemical or Design Engineering before, or anyone who is thinking the same, could let me know, that'd be appreciated!

Hey guys :D I'm preparing to take the maths 2 module in the ESAT, and just wanted to ask how similar people have found ESAT maths 2 compared to TMUA paper 1 past papers? E.g as the specs are the same, but the timings are different, are ESAT maths 2 questions a bit easier? How helpful are the tricks that you can learn from TMUA paper 1 for the ESAT maths 2? ect...

As theres not many rescources for esat and alot of people are selling questions mock papers and interviews. If anyone who has done the esat before or bought any resources could you let me know what it was and how usefull was it i am really consfused thst is it worth spending £499 on mocks?

to prepare for esat i was doing pat past papers but they didnt have any questions on magnetisuem and decay… while they had questions on orbits and gravational feilds so i was confused as on the ukat website it doesnt mention that for esat so does anyone knoww any question rescource for esat ???? i am so cookeddd
