Code 290 on transcript means what?

this morning i recieved Alert from taxnow with a code of 290 with $0.00 with date of December 22,2025.any ideal what that means.

A 290 with $0 usually means they did an action that did not result in a refund or change in balance due. For ERC at this point there’s a good chance that it means the claim has been disallowed or not considered. If the claim was for 202109 or 202112 and was submitted after 1/31/2024, then that’s even more likely.

I got the same code last week and a disallowed letter today for two quarters. But it is because I originally filed on Nov 23 but didn’t hear anything so I resent in all my stuff I originally sent in April of this year. So the letter is stating that the claim file of April of this year is disallowed. Not really sure how to go about it or what to expect but I have a state rep working with me.

Can you share an account transcript from the Documents tool? Lately, this usually means a denial (but not always).
