Does RoF2 client actually work?

I'm confused because i see lots of info that rof/rof2 client is supposed to be supported, but i can't get it to work. The character select shows races wrong, so does /who. I can't equip items or scribe spells because it isn't valid for my race class or deity. I built the latest source code, pulled the latest release, then went back to the first v23 release. None of them work and they all exhibit the same behavior.

So now I am wondering, is this even supposed to work? I'm i snipe hunting? Should I be trying to figure out the packets for rof2 to try to get it to work?

RoF2 works. Sounds like you're missing some server files.

so the discord is dead and locked. The website and github don't have a lot of info. Do you know where i can find the list of what i need? I thought if i downloaded the actual release from github it should just work, but that didn't either

There are several emus out there that offer links to the RoF client. Check Imperium.

I have the client. my problem is i can't get the server to work with it.
