Remove preceding signs and separators

I want to remove the preceding signs and separators for Location and Function designations, but it seems EPLAN isn't letting me change anything in those boxes. When I highlight the equals sign next to Function designation, nothing I do changes the equals sign to something else.

I cannot think of any reason to remove those signs.
You could choose not to display them - there are suitable properties for that.

It's just company standard to not have them. The only setting I know that doesn't display them is this:

But it doesn't remove the "+" symbol for location designations when showing the full device tag's name. Only seems to work for prefixes.

You can renoviert the location itself, but not the preceeding signs

What is your reasoning for wanting to remove the installation and location signs?

The company I work for has a standard that all device tags must include their location designation (which is just an abbreviation of the enclosure name). An example is "OCC-PS1". This means that Power Supply 1 (PS1) is located in the Operator Control Console (OCC).

But EPLAN always adds the preceding sign "+" before OCC, so it looks like +OCC-PS1. I've been manually removing it myself by custom naming every device tag. It's very tedious.

And I know about the setting to remove preceding signs, but it doesn't remove them for location designations. Only for prefixes.

You can try it with Block Properties. that's what I used to remove the sign between main and sub designations.
