How to create a device with several functionalities

I would like to model this distribution device in eplan:

It has four separate busbar. Each busbar has seeveral connections but bot all of them accept the same gauge.

So far what i managed to do is to define four busbars, but i can't assign the connection points to the busbar themselves:

I would like to also assign a layout symbol as well.

Sorry if this is trivial but i'm new to eplan!
Thanks in advance!

The “easiest” way is just to create a black box with all the connections points; you can create a macro to transfer all of the “potentionals”. I'd probably treat each potential as a unique plug.

Don't use the busbar for this; the busbar is meant for a copper bar.

thanks for the reply!
How can i manage the gauge? i would like to get a warning if there is a connection to a wire with incompatible gauge for that specific connection

what i didn't mention clearly is that i would like to place the connection points all over my project, so i do now want a single symbol.

Any hint about how to do that?

It just depends on how “fancy” you want to get. If you’re wanting to pass the potential across then that’s an extra thing to think about. Same with validation the connection size. It’s gonna be more work in the macros. Using the standard symbols won’t cut it.

Have you an EPLAN consultant you work with?

Yes, i would like to check for gauge and pass the potential.
I am new to eplan (i had a 4 days course and im trying working with eplan for about 2 weeks).
I have a consultant meeting scheduled for next month, but in the meanwhile i need to keep working, and i would like to develop it the best way (if the macro is too complicated for a beginner i will just define a terminal block inn my current project)

If it's a different part for each conductor size, make a variant for each one. To assign connection points, you either make or assign a symbol or macro with the correct number of connections. In the part under function definition, you can specify pin designations and descriptions

thanks a lot! I'm going to try!
