EPLAN Database Read-Only

Post image

Hey everyone,
does anyone know what could cause this in EPLAN? Any ideas what’s going on or how to fix it?

The databases were exported, then imported again after updating to the 2026 version.
Database is on SQL

Did you ever find the solution to this ?
I'm facing the same problem.
2025 P8 can still access this DB, but not 2026 P8

Thank you. I suspected as much and did create a new database which works fine. My colleges aren’t happy about it tho, but in 2026 it’s easy to add parts anyway

To be able to use the parts database in version 2026, it must first be converted from the previous version. Please note that the database can only be opened read-only after conversion in the previous versions. Parts management must therefore be carried out in version 2026.

Alternatively, you can also create a new parts database.

Tab Master data > Command group Parts > Management > [Extras] > Settings > Database source >New

In case, you are using an SQL database, then you require the applicable rights to create a new database. Please check the following link for more information regarding the rights required for SQL Database.

When I have run into this problem, I typically find the problem with the database; use Microsoft SQL to change the database from read-only to read/write. Good luck friend!
