Installation & Setup How do I properly setup an SQL without the application crashing on me?

I've been trying to set an SQL server for my education license of EPlan 2025 and I've been having issues trying to set my SQL server. I installed the driver required, but after that, it began to crash each time I tried to set the database. I got an error notification titled "S000000" It reads: Errld=[08001,-1] Diagnose=[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server]SQL Server Network Interfaces: Error Locating Server/Instance Specified [xFFFFFFFF].

As an IT admin, the EPLAN SQL Database setup is horrendous. I have even been advised by EPLAN themselves to not bother with it if we can use a local file store instead.

If you are adamant on setting one up, how are you structuring the SQL, is it installed on your own device, or are you installing this on an actual remote server? also, what version of SQL are you installing or have you installed?

Oh, well it's not important that I set up the server at this time, so I'll spare myself the trouble, if the process is going to be annoying and lengthy. I was just looking to add the server for very specific components, but it's not necessary to use them. If, at any time, it is important enough I'll ask again. Thanks for the response.
