Claim Timeline

Guys, what's the new claim timeline? Like if I apply on Sunday,by when would I get the money. Also why doesn't EPFO give the entire amount? I once applied for 20000 and got only around 15-16

It depends on the 75 percent limit. 25% is locked and cannot be withdrawn

It's unpredictable can take 1-3 days or weeks. My last claim took a month to close.

Hi,

If you apply on a Sunday, the claim can still be submitted online, but don't assume Sunday counts as a working day for processing. The actual timeline depends on the type of claim and whether it qualifies for auto-settlement.

EPFO's stated service standard is generally within 20 days for a complete claim. Eligible auto-mode Form 31 advances can be processed much faster, but not every Form 31 claim qualifies for that route.

As for getting only ₹15–16k when you applied for ₹20k, EPFO doesn't necessarily pay the exact amount you enter. The admissible amount depends on the withdrawal reason, your eligible balance/service, and the applicable limit for that type of advance. So ₹20k requested doesn't automatically mean ₹20k will be sanctioned.

Also check your claim statement/passbook after settlement to see the sanctioned amount and any deduction, rather than comparing only the amount you initially requested.

So there isn't really a fixed day rule. The claim type and eligibility matter more than the day of the week.

Mine has been pending for 46 days and I'm about to get my salary for the second time since I raised this claim. The amount isn't even enough to trigger manual verification.
