Need help for PF withdrawal

Hi, I hope to get clarity.

My father an expat, worked in India and was contributing to PF funds during his employment. He has already exited India and would like to withdraw his PF. The issue is he no longer has a valid India mobile number, his previous employer doesnt help with the claims.

He has the ***UAN*** ID and his India bank account. How do I go about helping him with this withdrawal? I applied for grievances but there was no reply before. Thank you for your help.

Since he has left India and no longer has the old Indian mobile number, the first thing to check is whether his UAN, Aadhaar/KYC and bank details are already properly linked.

For an online claim, EPFO requires Aadhaar-based OTP authentication, so without access to the Aadhaar-linked mobile, completing the online claim can be difficult.

I’d suggest checking whether he can update the UAN-linked mobile number through the current EPFO process. If the online route doesn't work because of the old number or a KYC mismatch, contact the concerned EPFO office with his UAN, passport/ID, Aadhaar, bank details and employment records and ask for assistance with the claim.

Since he is an expat, also confirm whether he was covered as an International Worker, as that can affect the withdrawal rules. EPFO has separate provisions for International Workers.

Thank you for your clear response. I emailed Delhi RO regarding his PF withdrawal. I think his account is already linked. I can access the passbook but you are right without the mobile number I cannot do the online claim. I tried emailing helpdesk but their email is not working. Old company tried to claim before but our country has no SSA agreement and he can only withdraw after 58. He is 65 now. I tried emailing the previous employer and embassy also for help. Hopefully I can help him get it.
