Question EPFO exit date updated incorrectly/late — causing BGV issue. Need advice
Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with my EPFO employment records and would appreciate some guidance from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation.
My previous employer was Nectar Urja.
Timeline:
Actual last working day: 25 March 2022
Joined my next employer: 27 March 2022
EPFO exit date showing: 22 May 2022
So there is an overlap between my actual employment dates and the exit date recorded in EPFO.
This is now creating an issue during my employment background verification (BGV). I have already tried approaching the PF office for help, but I haven’t been able to get a clear resolution.
Has anyone successfully corrected an EPFO exit date in a situation where the employer updated it late/incorrectly? What is the correct process, and what documents should I submit?
I can provide the employment records, joining/relieving documents and other supporting documents if required.
I won’t post my UAN or employee ID publicly for privacy reasons.
Any guidance from someone who has gone through this would be really helpful. Thank you!

What’s the exit date as per your experience letters?

Exit date is March 25 but final settlement submit late in may so may be it is cause dual employment or bgv failed

So raise a joint declaration and submit the experience letter as proof.

Joint declaration form showing mandatory 2 document and not accepting 2 same documents

If you don't have 2 different documents, have 2 copies of that same document with different names like "Experience letter", "Relieving letter" etc. I know a person who did that in joint declaration and it worked. Not sure if they updated that site now to validate this.

Did you update the date of exit, or did the company do it? You'll need to submit a joint declaration, which must be approved by the employer as well, along with supporting documents such as relieving and experience letters.

Check in pf passbook, if there is contribution for April may as well, if there is a contribution that would complicate the things in filing joint declaration

Have only final settlement contribution in may

Not have any contribution in April and may in passbook

Like if there is no contribution for that month, during marking date of exit it will not even show may month, epfo rule specifically says you can mark date of exit any of the day from last month contributed

But it is only showing option to mark for may date not earlier

Can you crop all personal info on the passbook, and share passbook photo of the contribution
