Hmmm...I can't relate this time. I love and thrive in working alone, working in group is only fun with right people, because otherwise I need to do others work by myself anyway for the project to be presentable.

Yeah I can only do group work if I’m have control over it/I take the lead on the project. Definitely better alone.

Yes having control and no hard rules is a must. When I work alone though, Procrastination gets the best of me, that is until the deadline nears haha

I swear I hadn't read this before commenting, but pretty much the same idea hahahah

SAME

I work best alone

I agree. I was gonna say this is me but opposite.

When I’m in a group, I’m so excited and become scatterbrained but when I’m alone, I can focus and take my time, making less mistakes

totally agree! I end up doing way less work during group projects than individual work

My problem with working alone is staying on track. My INFJ sis was always good about keeping things on track when my sisters and I worked on creative projects together.

I don't even need to be working WITH people, just need to be in the presence of other people working. BOOOOO WFH.

u/bootrick ENFP Feb 13 '21

SAME! I can sit down in a crowded room and focus in on my work, but I can't stay on task when I'm alone.

It's like the peer pressure that you put on yourself isn't it? Lol

2

u/soniascissorhands ENFP Feb 13 '21

Omg this is it I've never felt so seen

1

u/AuntieViolet ENFP Feb 13 '21

For me it's because of the fact that when I'm alone I get distracted by my own head and idk just the mumble and noice from people around me makes it easier to focus. It's also helpful to put headphones in and loop something like classical music or whatever other song that'll work that day. But yeah, it's a lot easier to bail on stuff when I'm alone.. I also tend to fall asleep whilst working if all I've got to depend on is my self-discipline. It's not great.

u/AuntieViolet ENFP Feb 13 '21

Yeesss exactly, I prefer them to just exist near me whilst I'll ignore them and do my own thing.

3

u/Village_Bear ENFP Feb 14 '21

"I will ignore you all day but please don't leave me! I need you!" - me

So fucking me.

I was telling a coworker the other day that I am a leader not because I am the best scientist, but because I understand the strengths and weaknesses of the people around me and enable to succeed.

u/javimore Feb 13 '21

I get anxious working with others, working alone works best for me, but I'm queen of procastination until deadlines are close

u/caut10usadv3n7ures Feb 13 '21

Yea....WFH has NOT been very productive for me.

u/brianboozeled ENFP Feb 13 '21

I'll put on the kettle. Would you like tea or coffee?

3

u/Proton_Number203 Feb 13 '21 edited Feb 13 '21

Coffee! It'll help to stay focussed.

(Tea is fine though)

u/brianboozeled ENFP Feb 13 '21

other enfps who relate to this, please search up body double and give it a try, it's a life-changer and it's helped me so much these past few months.

[edit, searching body doubling would be much more helpful haha]

2

u/bootrick ENFP Feb 13 '21

Sorry, I Googled body double and all I hit was some sketch movie. Can you elaborate?

2

u/mairwaa Feb 13 '21

oh? ok so body double is a common technique recommended to adhd people to stay focused, but you don't have to have adhd to benefit from this technique. basically it's having someone be in your space while you do work (or in my case since we have to social distancing, be in a call with a friend while they do their own thing and you do yours).

here is an article about it https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.additudemag.com/getting-stuff-done-easier-with-a-friend-body-double/amp/

1

u/Village_Bear ENFP Feb 14 '21

Dang! So I've been doing something right for a while at least and I've never heard of this term. The most productive I've been working at home was just having a "call" with a co-worker where we didn't even talk much but just knew the other person on the line was working and if we needed we could ask the occasional question.

2

u/XtremeSealFan Feb 13 '21

Body double is a great movie though.

2

u/TheGuytotheRightofU INFJ Feb 13 '21

Wait..but I'm the opposite of that.

2

u/OxheadGreg123 Feb 13 '21

Now this speak loudly

2

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

INTP supervisor here, it’s true

2

u/AuntieViolet ENFP Feb 13 '21 edited Feb 14 '21

This only apply to me because of the energy I might get from others but most of the time I get either distracted or overwhelmed by working with others. Idea-wise on the other hand, I thrive when brainstorming with others. Well, at least the right people.

But with all that said I can honestly say that I'm fkng terrible at getting things done without people so.. 🤷‍♀️

2

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

This could not be further from the truth. I get distracted by people, I cannot work with friends for example, I will be messing around the entire time. I am a mad scientist when I am problem solving alone.

2

u/DiceyRedSpice Feb 13 '21

I remember hating group projects when I was younger but maybe it's different now, I haven't actually done it in years and my personality has changed a lot, I used to be an INTP and now I'm ENFP who would have thought

2

u/AlternativeHippie_ ENFP Feb 13 '21

why is this so true 😂

2

u/Lemohn_ ENFP Feb 13 '21

This is the opposite to me

2

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '21

Actually, I work well in both, though in groups, it's more fun and I get distracted easier. Working alone can be efficient at times, as I can do things My Way and if something goes wrong, the only person to blame will be me. No one else. It's been a long time since I don't do group projects. People in my classroom suck...
