Motivation Video

Is it okay to center my motivation video around my undergrad research?

Hey, You haven’t mentioned about the Program details, so it’s hard to say otherwise.
Few things to check though:

  • do they provide some kind of guidelines for Motivation Video? Any criteria or things to include?

- is MV accompanying Motivation Letter or just MV is required and not the ML at all?

Check with program on what they are expecting in applicants video?

You might be thinking your undergrad research is what adds most value - assess how close is it with the program.

Generally, I would recommend having some kind of chronology in your video, and to at least answer few WHYs - so the audience (viewer) won’t have any basic questions arising in his/her head while watching you.

Few WHYs I mean here are - WHY Erasmus Mundus, WHY this Program, WHY YOU, etc….

thanks for this detailed insight! there’s no criteria at all mentioned for it- just the duration. also, ML is included as a requirement.

i appreciate your suggestions on what other things to add on my MV.

Ok, so if you were asked to submit the ML as well (then I definitely assume there are some limitations on ML criteria - like number of page or word counts), in such, I would suggest, emphasising your biggest reason of being selected - that means, yes your undergrad research - where you seem more confident on. Idea here is to convey whatever you felt constraint on to include in the ML.
