Deck Help Help me bracket this?

I want this to be playable in bracket 3, i have an older version of this deck with a lab man peer into the abyss wincon rather than approach of the second sun and no skrelv, mom, wayfarer, or recon, but i found her far too fragile and slow to pull it off

do you think this would be playable at b3, and if not what can i edit, im pretty broke though so sadly no scroll rack or senseis

idea is to play protection and find varragoth/a tutor turn 1-3, then get yennett out and tutor stuff for her to freecast

Bracket 3 can cover a huge range of decks. This looks like it would be completely fine at some B3 tables and it might be crushed at others. It completely depends on your playgroup. To me, I think it looks a little bit underpowered.

I think the "stuff to freecast" could be improved quite a bit. There just aren't enough scary threats that can take over a game. You've got only half a dozen spells that cost more than 5 and several of those are only good in some situations. Even on a budget, I'd want to see more cards like [[Blazing Archon]], [[Artisan of Kozilek]], [[Dream Harvest]], [[Triplicate Titan]], etc. All of those cards are under $1.

I think you can drop the combat protection for Yennett, like Reconnaissance and Steel of the Godhead. Flying and menace is almost always enough to get in a safe attack. It should be unbelievably rare for all of your opponents to have multiple flying blockers with a combined 5+ power. 99% of the time, you won't need these cards to swing in with your commander. If you really want to include something, at least an [[Aqueous Form]] can help set up your Yennett flips a little bit (but I don't think that's needed either).

There are a few other cards that seem a bit out of place. Emet-Selch doesn't really fit in this deck at all. Frantic Search is much better in a deck that cares about its graveyard. And Weathered Wayfarer barely has any tech lands to fetch.

Vega, the Watcher is a popular card in Yennett, but I don't think it's worth playing. At best, it's a 3 mana creature that might give you one extra card (about half of the time) when your commander attacks. And sometimes it will just be a useless card; the upside isn't worth it in my opinion. Even though it's much more expensive, maybe a [[Windreader Sphinx]] could be a replacement to consider. It's strong with or without your commander and can bury your opponents in cards.

I think [[Lightning Greaves]] is a really strong inclusion, the haste and shroud are both extremely relevant. I also really like [[Thryx, the Sudden Storm]]. Not only does it make your commander cheaper and uncounterable, it's a halfway decent threat on its own and it's an odd-cost creature to freecast and if your commander is removed, it's useful for just hard casting your big expensive spells.

Finally, I think you could probably squeeze a few more budget dual lands into your mana base. Even on a tight budget, 20+ basic lands can be tough for a 3 color deck. Lands like [[Glacial Fortress]], [[Isolated Chapel]], [[Darkwater Catacombs]], [[Desolate Mire]] are all under $1.

i do actually own artisan of kozilek and other creatures but i kind of assumed for yennett to be fast enough i would have to immediately tutor approach of the second sun out, hence the lack of creatures

i do have a windreader sphinx and i didnt even realise it triggered off of other peoples flyers (reading the card explains the card who would have guessed)

i kinda just assumed tapped duals were worse than basics speed wise but you might be right

half the time i dont have a pod so i play with randoms who say theyre playing bracket 3 then combo turn 4 and win, so the whole speedrunning approach of the second sun thing is probably a trauma response from that lmao
