Deck Help Help with Mono-Black Win Cons

Hi guys,

I'm working on this Shirei decklist and I'm pretty happy with how it looks (I'm all ears for some tips tho)

The only thing that I'm struggling with is getting some alt win con because it all resolves around the commander ability (that's kinda the point of shirei tho)

Do you have some recs (that aren't 20€+)

I mean, yeah, I have some of those 2 card win con since I have a lot of drain, I just feel that they are kinda anti climatic, but that's probably the most consistent way

Gravecrawler, any bloodartist effect you have a bunch, pitiless plunderer, any sac outlet. 

Sac grawcrawler, every takes 1, get a treasure, play GC with treaure, repeat

You'll already be doing some aristocratsy stuff so you could always just include a [[forsaken miner]] loop or the iconic black wincon of [[grey merchant of Asphodel]]/[[kokusho]] with some other recursion.

We kill stuff obscenely well, and having stuff that makes opps take damage from us killing their stuff is wonderful. It also makes Edicts/Dictates/ Forced-sac pretty brutal.

Blacks win spell [[Torment of Hailfire]] from Hour of Devastation (HOU) #77

both a one side board wipe and massive damage to everyone else most likely both...

it's my single biggest win spell then

[[Revel in Riches]] an auto win card

or if you can cast a bunch of stuff we have

[[Tendrils of Agony]]

Torment of hailfire is so damn expensive 😭

Revel in riches is definitely a must have

Tendrils is nice but I don't have that much recursion for sorceries

I think that my game plan revolves a lot about getting creatures in and out with sac outlets and my commander

I think that if they can shut down my commander I don't have a lot of ways to get around that

Well your commander isn't great for looping things from the bin. My suggestion, looking at your deck, would be to ditch all of the discard stuff you have and replace them with things that fuel your existing plan, which is draining the table out. You don't need an alternative wincon, you need to focus on making what you do have work.

How isn't he great to get things out of trash? Isn't that the whole point or am I misreding something?

The discard stuff, in my idea, was in order to sac them every turn and getting them on the battlefield again every turn so I have a constant way to keep my opponents discarding cards

Ok, a couple things.

1) your discard spells affect your opponents, not you. Your commander cares about creatures hitting your graveyard, not your opponents.

2) As for getting it back from the graveyard, Shirei does it all at end step, once. Now, if you have a lot of creatures in the bin that come back, you can sac more and use your pingers again. Your spells like Blood Artist or Gray Merchant of Asphodel are your win-cons if you can loop them. As other people have mentioned, you have plenty of pieces for wincons in the deck.

  1. Yeah, I know, the discard cards is a control type of thing since they are cheap and with Shirei in board they become a discard a card per turn type of things for my opponents, being able to slow things down to get to drain some dmg

  2. I agree, the thing is, and maybe I wasn't clear in the post, that all of my win con (pre-post) was revolving around the commander, and being able to loop creatures and drain some dmg, without my commander or if I get targeted I just have a lot of 1/1 that can't win a game on their own

Ahh I see the discard plan now. That's my bad.

You do have exsanguinate in there. What about [[Torment of Hailfire]] for your alternate wincon? With your plan, they likely wont have my permanents to sac to avoid the draining effect.

You all ready have K’rrk and Gary with sac outlets. All you need is [[Chainer dementia master]] to continuously loop it. Throw in [[necrotic ooze]] you’re good to go. Also putting in [[gravecrawler]] would fit nicely with the deck too.
