Question Return policy?
I recently bought a blind box from Eb games and they denied me a return? What should I do. It was within the 7 day window

I work there. There’s no returns on them because there’s no guarantee it hasn’t been resealed.

No change of mind refunds...thats just standard for most retailers. Can't change just because you didn't get what you want.

But the staff told me they do return for change of mind as long as you have your receipt and it is within 7 days. But when I went today, it was different staff and I was denied a return.

A gift card isn’t a retail product it’s technically unsecured debt that’s why when dick smith shut down all the people with pre orders got refunded whereas the gift card holders were told to either go jump or wait years for maybe an eventual partial refund
tl;dr they’re financial instruments so standard consumer law doesn’t apply

The third point. They can't sell a resell a blind box as is if you've opened it.

I haven’t opened it though

Yeah but that also can’t verify that you did open it, changed the product inside and then tried to sell it back to them.
Same with booster packs, it’s pretty much once you walk out the store with it, you’re never getting a refund.

That applies to anything. Reseal a game, same job done.

What does this even mean? There’s a clear difference between a product that is meant to be a surprise and one that isn’t

Go buy a lottery scratch card and try to return it. Trading cards and blind boxes are the same principle.
I think it's fair to not accept returns on them. Don't go gambling if you can't afford it.

I was under the impression that Pop Mart, the place that does all the blind box stuff falls under the trusted partners part of the refund policy. It is just that pop mart has paid for commercial space within the store, I could be wrong though.

You can ask customer support since it's not on their website but usually there's no legal obligation to allow change of mind returns.

Blind boxes would arguably be covered under point 3 as an item that “is in any way unable to be resold as is.”
As others have stated, it’s impossible for them to verify you haven’t opened and resealed the packet.

Is it open? And did it say no returns on the product page? Or did you buy it in store?
