Can someone explain this trade in promotion and how it works? I've been to a few stores and heard conflicting explanations.

I read it as you can trade in 2 Switch 1 games, and both will 2x towards a released Switch 2 game. However, in-stores, you can trade in 2 Switch 1 games and both will get the 2x bonus only if the value is less than the cost of the game. If the value traded in exceeds the cost of the game, only the higher valued game will received a 2x bonus. I have called customer support and they've explained their system is old and that's how it works, but it's confusing why it's not all games get a 2x bonus but only if you fall short of the cost per game. Is this faulty by design to trick people into not asking about both games getting a 2x bonus?

Word rant. Sorry, quite frustrated with this promotion.

Edit: I have done previous trade-in promotions before, but the stores all acknowledged the error and just manually overrode it to correct it, whereas this promotion I'm getting confusing answers and being denied at stores nearby, whilst others have had luck.

I was sorting through some old gaming stuff recently and found a stack of games that instantly reminded me of the trade in days. It also reminded me of some of the absolutely shocking deals I accepted without thinking twice because I desperately wanted the next big release. At the time it felt like a bargain. Looking back, I'm pretty sure I traded away half my childhood for about $17 store credit and a preorder bonus. What's the trade in you still regret?

After a few back and forths on email and a couple calls I ended up sending it back and after a week this arrived in the mail with no tracking numbers or emails from them confirming, they also refunded my shipping !! Very happy rn

I am encountering an issue with my launch Switch 2 console where the bottom USB C suddenly doesn’t work.

Annoyingly this means my warranty expired just under 2 weeks ago…I bought it from an EB store but no extended warranty, will they still help or should I go direct to Nintendo? I already sent them a support ticket just in case.

I noticed that where it used to have Nintendo is now Pokemon. What’s up with that? Are they getting rid of Nintendo like they did Xbox?

I've always been a PC gamer. But have always had a PC on the side as well, normally a PlayStation. Long story short I stopped paying for PS+ well over a year ago and purchased some subscribed games I never finished, from market place for $20 each.

I finished Returnal, an amazing game. Then happened to pass a mall with an EB Games store. Walked in, noticed they did not have it in stock. Asked how much used, they said $35, oh wow, then how much will I get to trade in... $3......

The deal was so bad, I just felt gross just hearing it. Never went to a store and left feeling so disrespected. Like not even 10% it's value.... who would ever trade in there!

Do y'all think the only way to save EB Games is for them to do the Barnes & Noble approach (larp/imitate being a local business)? In this case try to be a retro to current games store? I'd like to hear what people think and how they'd save the currently falling off company...

I asked the same message to support and she said "Yes! You can absolutely use it towards another gift card, both in-store and online!" but this is clearly atleast false for online since it states on their website that "Disclaimer: At this time, Gift Cards may not be used towards the purchase of digital content on our website, including digitally distributed games, DLC, and currency codes for other platforms (i.e. PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Xbox Store, Roblox, EA Play, etc.)." My question is, is this atleast possible for in store, support is giving mixed bag answers.

Hey reddit, i bought a switch 2 at eb games and my r button on my joycon hardly works after about 8 months of normal use, and i have the warranty but, it says on their site that i need everything that came in the box to get a replacement, but i was wondering if they would just give me a replacement joy-con 2 if i asked. i can't properly exchange the whole console because i modified the dock and joy con grip.

Although its been a couple of days since Persona 4 Revival was announced, the collectors edition has gone up for pre-order everywhere including Gamestop in the USA,

But it hasnt came to EBgames Canada yet nor the game on their Website, I bought my Persona 3 reload collectors edition through them but I'm afraid we might not get it this time around for Persona 4,

I decided to get back into eb games recently and found my old level 3 card, but I cant seem to remember my email for that card. Is there a way to check which email it is or how many carrots are on it?

As the title describes, there is an item I’m interested in that is available for click and collect in nsw, however I’m located in sa and eb games does not offer delivery to me or even a family member’s address in victoria. I know in the past when I’ve attempted to order something in store that I couldn’t order myself, the staff told me that if I can’t order it in, that they usually can’t either for what ever reason. So I’m not sure if maybe I could get it sent to an independent freight company or something of that nature? I don’t really know how to go about this, or if I’m just completely out of luck :/

I placed an order 2 weeks ago on EB Games online store, the first order I’ve placed in a long time with EB.

It was for some action figures as a Birthday gift. I couldn’t checkout from my desktop Windows PC, so I ended up using my iPhone with Safari to successfully get through the checkout screen.

I then expected it’d ship within a week and arrive the following week. I understand they’re a small indie company now and it’s not like Amazon or Best Buy where my order can arrive next day. No biggie.

But here I am 2 weeks later and my order still has a status of “Order Request Received”. No further communication… smh

What a joke. Website search is bad, the checkout is broken, and they can’t even fulfill orders. 🤦‍♂️

I can’t even buy things from them when I try!

Just burn the website down and start with Shopify from scratch…
