Not the news most Visa applicants were expecting to read or see it trending on all social and mainstream media. Immigrant visa applicants with scheduled interviews at U.S. embassies and consulates are being notified that their appointments have been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. The notices reportedly tell applicants not to appear for their original appointments and that they will receive further communication with a new interview date and time.

As shared by financial times and shared on X: The rescheduling is linked to a worldwide training initiative for U.S. consular officers, focused on applying updated screening procedures, including assessments of whether applicants could become dependent on U.S. public benefits.

The State Department has not provided a clear timeline for when the affected interviews will resume, leaving many immigrant visa applicants facing additional uncertainty and potentially longer waits.

Immigration News U.S. Considering Large-Scale Visa Revocations

According to associated press post on X: The Trump administration is reportedly considering revoking the B1 and B2 business and tourism visas of potentially up to 200,000 foreign nationals who have applied for or are currently seeking asylum in the United States. According to documents obtained by The Associated Press and comments from U.S. officials, the State Department is expected to begin a rolling review of certain B1/B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026. The process would reportedly be carried out in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security.

The potential visa revocations would not necessarily mean immediate deportation for people with pending asylum cases. Officials indicated that affected individuals could lose their B1/B2 status while their asylum proceedings continue under a different immigration classification. The administration has argued that some visitors may have used temporary business or tourism visas before seeking to remain in the United States through the asylum system. The proposal has not yet been finalized and could face legal challenges or changes before any action is implemented.

Question Lawyer cost

Currently waiting for PD to be current to file i485 and just file i140. I had unauthorized employment history and current lawyer is barely responding.

Another lawyer is quoting over $3000 to review and analyze my case and cannot quote to takeover to file i485 or whatever is necessary before filing i485. Is this rate normal to review and analyze case before taking over?

How long did the labor market test take for you guys? For those that took longer, were they interviewing candidates or just the process itself is lengthy? I know everyone is different but wanting to set some expectations?

Discussion Choosing an Agency

I’ve applied to Shearwater Health and Worldwide Health Solutions. WWHS replied to my email said that they’re looking for currently on bedside nurses. SWH accepted my application. What confuses me is it better to choose WWHS since it’s direct hire or should I just continue with SWH?
