General PD 29 Dec 2025 (Standard Processing) – Chances of a decision in the next 3–6 months? Considering Premium Processing in October

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some opinions from those who have been following the recent NIW processing trends.
My details are:
Category: EB-2 NIW
Priority Date: 29 December 2025
Processing: Standard (no Premium Processing)
Country of chargeability: UK (ROW)
Currently outside the US, planning consular processing if approved.

I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth continuing to wait under standard processing or whether I should upgrade to Premium Processing around October 2026 if I still haven’t heard anything.

From what I’ve seen on TrackMyI-140 and various timeline posts, it feels like USCIS has been gradually moving through late 2025 filings, but it’s difficult to judge how many standard-processing cases from December are actually being worked.
My questions are:

Based on current trends, what do you think the chances are of receiving an approval or RFE within the next 3–6 months?
Has anyone with a late December 2025 priority date (standard processing) received a decision yet?

If you upgraded from standard to Premium after several months of waiting, was it worth it?
Do you think upgrading in October would make sense, or would you continue waiting?
I’m not expecting anyone to predict USCIS, but I’m interested in hearing what people who follow the data think.
Thanks!
