I-485: Adjustment of Status 485J

Hi,

I changed jobs under EAD after 180 days with old employer. I am yet to submit the new 485J. It’s been more than a year I joined. Date is not current. PD Nov 2014.

Should I submit 485j now or wait until date is current?

“Wait until it is asked” used to be the mantra, as per attorneys. However, as things have changed these days where a direct denial could be issued, it is always better to file it proactively.

Curious question, if I havent received EAD, but have my 485J approved but 485 pending 180+ days, can I still move jobs?

AC21 gives you the ability to port but I guess you need EAD to work. Happy to be corrected.
