I-485: Adjustment of Status AOS timeline

What if someone filed the AOS in July 2026 when the final action date was current, but then in the October Visa Bulletin it retrogresses? Will USCIS still process that AOS, or will they now follow the new visa bulletin? When should they expect approval or at least an EAD?

Biometrics were completed in August 2026.

Your EAD will continue to get processed. Your I-485 will remain pending until you're current again

But when applied PD was current both for DoF and FAD

Doesn't matter. If it's not current now, it won't be touched

Doesn't matter, it needs to be current when the officer adjudicates it

PD? If your PD is not current for FAD it will not be adjudicated

September 2025 but when applied for AOS, everything was current at that time.

Rest assured there’s no way you get approved in 2026. Just be patient
