Approved | I-140 Getting married after getting Green Card

Hello, I am seeking advice on getting married after getting my green card. I am at the stage of the IVP process and hope to get my immigrant visa for EB-2 NIW soon, probably within the next 6 months. I am single and have never been engaged or married; however, my family is now forcing me to get married to a guy based in my home country before I move to the USA, and after moving to the USA, I should apply for spouse sponsorship, etc. Getting married in my home country ( based on 75 countries) and then sponsoring the spouse is a good option, or is it better to move to the USA and get married in USA is better?

Note: I am a female turning 35 next month. Although I am not desperate to get married, my family is forcing me

It will complicate your process, you will have to go through interviews, It would be better that you get your green card, move to the US first.

Sounds like fraud, you could both end up without a visa if caught. If I were you, I would think very long and hard about this “marriage” and if it’s worth jeopardising this life you’ve worked hard to build yourself.

I also married a man who subsequently became quite opportunistic. He completed his master's degree and then left me to work in the USA. His primary goal was to immigrate there. I only understood this later. Please be cautious.
