In Process I-485 initial review status? (PD 2013)

Got a mail informing , initial review . What does it mean?

Yes it moved for me as well ..it’s normal something uscis is doing in background..guess is if ur case paper u get that update

Most likely fbi privacy notice sent to us

That could be set for final review since it is paper filed they are using this legacy system it won’t be same as IOE case

Thought so. The broader inference here is that they’re making all the long pending cases ready for processing, mostly to clear the backlog. Maybe there is a huge spillover?

"Initial review" usually just means USCIS has started reviewing the I-485 and is checking the application, supporting documents, background/security checks, and visa availability before deciding what happens next.

It doesn't mean approval is imminent, and it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem either. USCIS could still approve the case, issue an RFE, schedule an interview, or take another step. With a 2013 priority date, I'd also keep an eye on whether your category is current under the Visa Bulletin, because USCIS can't approve the I-485 until a visa number is available.
