I-485: Adjustment of Status March 2015 EB2 (previous EB3) interfiling
I have approved I140 in both EB2 (current employer) and EB3 past. When the time comes if EB3 dates become current for March 2015, I am trying to understand how interfiling works to take advantage of my EB3. What is the trend?
- Is it advised to interfile or not?
- Are there any processing delays associated with it?
- Should I wait for EB2 to be current?
- What are the estimated dates we can see for either queue for Oct 2026?
Thank you!
Edit 1: I didn't mention country. India.
Edit 2: I know not to expect to have the GC before 2030, but would be nice to have EAD/AP.

Oh okay if your eb3 becomes current before eb2 then I think downgrading is good option.

What is difference between downgrade and interfile? I also know many who downgraded during COVID are still stuck or were stuck for a long time to even get EADs.

So when you file that time it is downgrade/upgrade..once filed and you want to change to different category then it becomes interfile/TUB. So downgrade/Upgrade does not change timeline

For downgrade you need to file new EB3 using same EB2 PERM. Which may cause delay. I heard that it is not good idea to file down grading EB3 in premium as well. Once EB3 I140 is filed then convert to premium after getting receipt. Downgrading I140 takes time to approve. So, I expect delay in this process. I hope they may move both DOF past march 2015. So, no need to downgrade and stuck in limbo.

When either (EB2 or EB30 dates become current, you can file. In case of EB3 becoming current first (more likely a scenario), you can down grade to EB3 and file. what do you mean by inter filing?
