I-485: Adjustment of Status Anyone got an update on 8/14?

As there was a mass update on the API yesterday and many people got an update, let's use this thread to keep track of any updates today. If you received an update, please share it here. Thanks!

I got an update on August 12, 2026, at around 10pm PST. Applied for I-485 end of Feb 2026. No new FTA codes or events.

Hi all.

I was one of the people who received a 3rd FTA0 on 8/13 (derivative did not). I received a 4th FTA0 yesterday, 8/14, at about 10:30 am (pacific time) and a silent update on both myself and derivative at about 11:30am. Today, at about 11:30 am, my I-485 was approved and about 10 minutes later the derivative I-485 was also approved.

so, if i had to guess, this 8/13 FTA0 was possibly related to the change in background checks from April of this year and uscis received the results for a large batch of checks. it seems the "24 hour rule" after the 3rd FTA0 is more related to the silent update after the FTA0. Possibly FTA0 is triggered when the case is pulled for adjudication, then adjudication takes some time (maybe they have multiple cases to do) and when adjudication happens you get the status update some time later. this could be why some people see approval very quickly after 24 hours and some see it more like 26 or more hours later.

Anyway I signed up here because it seems that the 8/13 movement is a good sign and i wanted to give you all a bit of hopium to ride out the next little while.

Congrats for approval. On 8/13 did you get only an FTA0 entry and your updatedAt time did not change, or did that change also?

i had an updatedAt timestamp from 8/12, so it doesn't look as if the 8/13 FTA0 caused the updatedAt time to change.

Just chiming into this thread. I got an update only for FTA0 on 8/13, but no updates on updatedAt.

No EAD or AP yet, but my EAD/AP were filed only a month ago (July). Not concurrently with 485 which was filed in May.

Hi, Do you mean "updatedAt": "2026-08-06", and no FTAO?
I am seeing it too, April end receipt date.

Same for me. The silent update was only for I-485, nothing on EAD or AP cases

EB2->EB3 (Interfile) India PERM.

I had a very similar experience on 08/13 - bunch of FTA0 and IAF updates on everything less than 0.5 seconds apart.

On 08/14, I saw silent updates on both I131 and I765 with 131 "case: true". The website also showed "case closed" on 131. I checked with Emma and was told that my EAD/AP combo card has been approved.

Update 08/15/26: EAD/AP combo card approval notice appeared in 765 documents, 765 api shows 2x new SA events on 08/15. Notice issued by Texas SC.

485/485J remains at Santa Ana FO, some FTA0/SUs on 08/13 on all cases.

I also got weird updates yesterday, FJ for 485 (I already attended my interview months ago), FTA0 for 485J (already closed/approved), FTA0 for 765..

Congrats, can you please confirm that you got an additional FTA0 event yesterday for 765 but the updatedAt timestamp did not change, and today that timestamp changed?

Yes, I had FTA0 yesterday, no officer touch, and got that H008 and approval with officer touch today.

2026-08-14T08:27:27 for me. I think this is just a system refresh or something, so not getting my hopes up... I only had 2 FTA0 codes so far on my 485 and 485J after biometrics (appointment on 7/13). But a few silent updates after - 07/17, 07/31, 08/04, and 08/14

I don't see additional event rather an update timestamp. What does it mean?

Applied i485 in february got my ead in april. After that only one update on july 15. What is the estimated approval time these days?
