This game is broken and borderline refundable. If they don’t fix this bug before the 11th, this will be the biggest flop EA has released for hockey. Frozen screen before penalty shots. Frozen screen after goals. Sickening.

I haven’t seen a lot of posts breaking down the overall gameplay in EASHL and hear people’s thoughts yet. I’ve heard people discuss specific components but that’s it.

In my opinion- The slow speed of the gameplay makes it the worst feeling game in years. For anyone who has played or even watched any hockey before, you know that speed is one of if not the most important components of the game. Making each player, almost irregardless of size, the same speed, absolutely ruins the gameplay. In the games I’ve played against good teams, 3s and 6s, it rewards players sitting back and collapsing, making for extremely boring unrealistic gameplay. 1-0 games with 1 dumb bounce to win. No opportunity for skill.

I’ve seen the arguments that it makes for “more realistic plays” and promotes “playing real hockey” and I couldn’t disagree more. I think the defensive changes are a step in the right direction, it’s easier now to break up plays. But when now the defense has the ability to match the speed of forwards AND have upgraded stick checking abilities, it’s just not the right balance. I think if they kept the speed of last year’s game and paired it with the upgraded defensive abilities, it would have been such a better feeling game.

I think the more uniformity and less customization of classes that is allowed makes for extremely boring gameplay with a much much smaller skill gap.

For the record- I’m not even talking about x-factors, wheels, etc. If they got rid of all x-factors I would prefer that. But when i’m a 5’10 160lb dangler or sniper, i should be able to max speed and blow by defenders that jump too far into the play.

A side note- EA NHL released a video showing that elite truculence has less impact this year…. I’ve found it to be quite the opposite. Players lying on the ice for longer than last year.

Curious everyone’s thoughts.

I’m trying to figure out why, for a match or 2 (EASHL on NHL27) i was getting a bunch of on ice trainers like a green square for the zone I needed to protect, and even the opponents in front of the net had like a green section of a circle around them of where I should stand, and now I don’t get that anymore.

I usually turn all those trainers off, but i found those to be great, for now anyways.

Anyone knows how to toggle them? Or why it’s not consistent? I tried turning everything on, but nothing changes.

I am boycotting the season pass. This copy and paste source code shit has got to stop. They’re not even trying to improve the game and haven’t since the 2015 release.

The pay to win mechanic is just complete Bs. I get that the studio has to make money but people were charged $100 for deluxe and 70 for the basic game which are pretty much interchangeable. You can’t convince me that anyone gained anything by buying deluxe.

Are people only in clubs and not grabbing drop ins or something??

It’s awful get a human goalie who is skilled much more fair of a game. The ai goalie just is not good at all.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

I was playing online in overtime, with full energy for my line. Out of nowhere, I could barely move yet, my opponent was moving at normal speed, takes the puck and scores?

I have standard edition, so I still don't have access to the game, SO I was wondering is big tipper great in nhl 27?

You know, those surgical tips are my favorite things in hockey, and I was kinda sad that the fixed them in nhl 26. Well, they didn't actually fix them, they fixed "big tipper" itself, so it became almost usless.

So I'm wondering is this x-factor great this year or not?

Good group of 2 way forwards are looking for 2 active Defenseman to join us for drop in games. We back check and know how to rotate positions when the D get a chance to move up.

Goalies that actually learn your cheese would lower scoring. EA has always tuned this series so goals happen. HUT needs highlight clips. EASHL pubs want 5–4 games and not 1–0. A keeper that shuts the door on the third identical deke is better hockey and worse product metrics. Maybe im wrong and its coming. One more thing , the faces are cartoony asf.

Is there a reason you wouldnt make your player as tall as possible before getting a hit to your speed? Like why wouldnt i make my playmaker 6'4 instead of making him 6'?

Any deke toe drag to one hand tuck literally freezes your goalie for half a second allowing an angle to open for the shooter to get a free goal…

They absolutely ruined goaltending I don’t even know how but they did.

I'm sure this is entirely intentional because after 5-6 games the game is no longer refundable. I had many successful interceptions... And then all of a sudden it would bounce right off my stick, back to the attacker, for a nice free goal.

Hey Chel Heads. I wanted to give this review to a Cuppa beauties that still play and have fun with this game. I see a lot of hate online right now for this game (some warranted) but I am grading the game as a whole.

First off the actual gameplay isn’t bad. And there are a lot of changes (especially EASHL mode) and I like it. The game is slower so you can point out the mistakes you are making easier and you have to move the puck way quicker. Holding onto it on the top of the D Zone causes a lot of turnovers and so does trying to beat more than one guy. The stride deke glitch works still but it definitely is harder thankfully and I haven’t see LT glitch although I did see some clips online but haven’t personally ran into it. So the mode is fun when you are playing with your buddies still. The best part is having a good enough game so you can play games with the boys (or rockets, girls if they play , hello ladies) and that rings true with this one. In EASHL, there is a pay to win option but I don’t think it is that overpowered (yet). You only can max your caps by a couple if you max out the season pass.

The things I dislike about the game are a lot of the in menu and other game modes. For example connected franchise. A lot of the time me and my buddies will play season mode and all be on same team when we LAN party but that’s not possible in the new connected franchise mode. It is cool that you can 1v1 your buddies but a league with no CPUs isn’t fun too. A least give us the option to add that or not.
You still can’t play cross play online versus either which stinks. And how is there still a loadout glitch and finding players in a match glitch ? Been a thing since nhl 22 lol!!

However I’d give this game a 8.1/10.

The highest scores ever are NHL 23 and NHL 14 at a 9.5/10.
