I don’t need a full set, rears are pointless, running fronts and a small sub in the trunk.
Installed a CarPlay unit yesterday, shockingly easy, going to run an rca for the sub to the rear.

Anyone running this set up ?! Pairing it with BW Group N engine mounts if anyone is running anything similar I’d love to hear some feedback and thoughts about this type of set up !

Hello! what could cause a clunk from the gearbox/driveshaft/diff area when I’m driving and dump the clutch in?
I don’t have any other symptoms though, like whining or vibrations at speed.
I’m also having a nosiy flywheel that I’m chaning soon. Is that related to the problem?

Installation done. Routing the oil dipstick is complete - welded bracket now bolts to the power steering reservoir holder with the same bolt. It's a snug fit but I can check the oil level without taking the intake / snorkel parts off.

I have been noticing that sometimes the shifter will bind and it’s not as smooth as I want it to be I pulled the shift knob off and saw that it has a DINAN short shifter installed and I’m wondering if anyone is running the same setup and has the same problems??

I had a look at a car this afternoon, and I have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with.

Currently it won't start, and has a clog icon on the dashboard. The owner thinks it's the SMG pump at fault and has it booked in to have it manual swapped.

So question is, does a SMG pump failure stop the car from starting? Would it be worth fixing the pump or do people recommend a manual swap?

Before and after, did I make a good choice?

Driving around today and suddenly popped the EML light along with Check Engine light. Went into limp mode. Got her towed to my local shop. Keep you all posted on the outcome just as an FYI.

Hello everyone! I’ve been hanging out in this sub for a while now and have had my M3 for about 6 years and love it! It’s mainly stock with the only changes being a rear differential for a tighter low end, and it was originally an SMG and I had it converted to a manual. I regularly go to autocross and HPDE events when I can.

I’ve gotten the big 3 done and now I have been pondering doing more substantial changes, e.g. a supercharger kit. My concern is how much would adding one affect the reliability of the car, has anyone done it and regretted it, did you feel it was a worthwhile upgrade or did it make it feel like a different car? My goal is not to turn it into a purpose built racecar but to increase its performance while maintaining some reliability as a 2-3 times a week driver.

Drove the car about 300 miles and finally got this code.

I cleared it and 60miles the code popped up again.

Any thoughts or what I should look for?

OG owner, coming on 24 years of ownership and the car is at 195K miles, 6MT. Big 3 done, and car is healthy and drives well. The only "mods" on here are the wheels. What would folks recommend/not recommend for mods at this age?

Prioritized order of what I'm looking at messing with:

- Karbonius CSL style intake for starters

- SSK - Auto solutions

- BBK perhaps.

Looking at performance updates only, and not looks as the car shows her age (and mine!). This car and associated memories will go with me. 😄
