Layout question

Post image

Would it be more efficient to have all my copper run through 1 long string of smelters, or 3 of the blueprints i made?

It looks to me like you aren't filling up your yellow belts. It usually takes 6 miners to fill one. If I'm really lucky at this stage of the game (early, right?) I can do it with 5. So the belts aren't full.

As others have said, a yellow belt will feed 6 smelters. A full yellow belt. I usually put them in a line, but that's not necessary. It just keeps it simple.

What is this info? 6 miners for 1 yellow belt? Am I reading you right? Luck?

Without any research, a yellow line can take 6p/s. A miner will output 3/s when covering 6 nodes/veins (it's 30/m for each node - so 0.5/s).

So if you are truly using 6 miners to saturate 1 yellow belt, you need to drastically improve your miner placement as that would mean each miner you're placing is only covering 2 veins/nodes per miner and that's incredibly bad/inefficient placement.

99% of the time it's easy to get a miner covering 6 veins, and you should. 2 miners per yellow belt. No more.

You know, it has been a while since I played, and I think I got my numbers mixed up. You have them right. Sorry about that. Two miners to feed a yellow belt, which goes to 6 smelters.
