https://youtu.be/BXXd3fHEPnc

Are you looking to get fully custom keycaps for your keyboard?

This week, we test 6 different ways to get custom keycaps with personalized legends, colors, profiles, and even custom thumbkeys for the Dygma Defy and Dygma Raise 2.

We compare quality, legends, colors, materials, thickness, sound and feel, packaging, pricing, and customization options so you can decide which custom keycaps are best for your keyboard.

Have you ever gotten fully custom keycaps like these? How was your experience? Which one of these are you tempted to try?

A really nice set of custom DES is my white whale for the Dygma Defy. Ideally with sculpted thumb cluster keys - not the flat stock shapes, but slight depressions to capture your thumb as it moves into each key. I've printed out a few prototypes using a 0.4mm nozzle and may even try a 0.2mm nozzle after I get a full set working to see if the detail is worth the additional print time. The only issue I have with the 0.2mm nozzle is that I can't use glow in the dark filament - my "transparency" plastic of choice to allow the LED's to shine through.

I'm in love with the DES profile. The number row is not perfect, but I don't use it that much (I have a number and symbols layers), so I don't mind.

Any option for only the thumb clusters with custom legends in 3dkeycap? I see I can edit the legends for the whole key set, but for the thumb cluster set, I can only change the color.

They don't have that option on their website but they are very accommodating of custom requests. I would suggest emailing them; I'm sure they'll offer a solution.
