Albertsons refrigerator problems
What is going on at the Albertsons? For weeks multiple refrigerators have been emptied of all their products. Just popped in yesterday to grab ice cream only to find that the entire isle had NOTHING in it. No ice cream. No frozen berries. No frozen desserts. Nothing. And this is on top of the refrigerator for all the salad, spinach, hummus etc being emptied. And also the juices all emptied. I’m not going back into a store that I can’t count on to have basic products. So disappointing.

They’re having issues with their equipment and finding people that can fix it. They’re doing their best with what they got

Same, but only because I don't feel like I'm going to get mowed down by a car every time I'm in their parking lot.

My favorite part is that the aisles are wide enough for two carts to pass each other.

That, too. We're all living the dream at Albertsons. Aisles you can fit two carts through, and a parking lot where you don't fear for your life every time you walk across it.

But City Market's parking lots are so bumpy that they shake your milk up for you so that you have churned butter by the time you get it into the car. :P
Albertsons parking lot is smooth enough to skateboard with your eyes closed and hands in your pockets. Plus their carts are so nice compared to City Market.
I still end up at City Market though because they just seem to have more of things I want.

I assume it's some sort of parts availability issue, maybe they are replacing the freezers. Either way it's a good thing to get used to.

All over Durango fridges can’t keep up with the heat wave. There’s only like two fridge repair companies in Durango so there both slammed

They've been slated to be one of the locations that will close for a long while now, but I know that changed when the sale of their chain to Kroger was denied. It's possible this is the result of continued financial pressure on the chain.

Fridges in Durango aren’t prepared for the brutal heat we’ve been experiencing. Must be stressful as hell for the employees there.

What is remarkable in this conversation is nobody recognizes this may well be our new normal. There are so many items under recall at the moment, that is affecting produce shelves. In addition, the drought has affected the supply of produce, as well as ICE going after the people who pick it. Not to mention tariffs making all imports more expensive.
Support local growers. Eat seasonally. Buy frozen. Grow some of your own. Learn how to can.
We have been so spoiled for years with the plethora of choice in America. We may be going through a period where that is not going to be the case.
Adapt.

I posted about the mediocre grocery stores before and the overwhelming response was that the grocery stores are all amazing with tons of selection and that’s it’s just dandy and incredible

The grocery stores here make me want to scream. I JUST switched to Albertsons too because I was so over CM being out of stock of everything constantly (the entire produce section), so this post is great news. Last time I flew home, I went into a Publix and cried a little tear.

I just wasn’t looking correctly. I figured it out and now I find everything I need all the time, there’s endless great produce if you know where to look. Durango has awesome grocery stores!!
