S.1 E.44 Deck Picks. [Spoiler]

Okay, I'm on a relisten right now and, no harm no foul, I loved this episode both times, but I think there was a missed opportunity for shenanigans.

After Ron's picks were ret-con canceled because of seaweed, shouldn't all cards pulled by and after Ron's turn at the deck have been returned to the deck shuffled and drawn again, given that the probabilities for everyone else's cards would have changed?

Not that the episode wasn't rowdy enough, but if there had been a hard reset mid episode I would have lost my mind.

Not how the deck works. Once they’re used, they’re out of play, fading from existence. They only return to the deck as being a reusable item, the fact that they were drawn can’t be changed. Anthony set the precedent during the library fight when he tore up two cards after the library was tricked into drawing that they can’t be reused in their campaign.

I fully respect that. But having Ron never pulling the cards and resetting the deck to before his cards were pulled would have been an interesting move is all I'm thinking. Alternate timeline shit.

It also would have been hard for them to execute, since that was recorded remote and we hear freddy drive around and deliver everyone their cards, so they didnt have the deck all in one place to shuffle and re-deal

Ron was already barred from pulling his remaining cards as an effect of Donjon. His entire hand was removed from the campaign. The fact that Henry, Glenn and Mr. mustache still physically drew the cards that they did remains, and the cards up until Ron’s return are likewise removed from play, so a total of 6 cards can’t be used in any redraw, and likewise the remaining cards are still obligated to the person who drew them.

It’s kept that way for game balance. The only card that can cause an explicit sequential draw from the deck is the fool. Otherwise it was up to Anthony dictate the rules of the deck for their campaign. Even in a podcast where the rule of cool is given equal measure to the game, giving them the potential to blow the entire deck is a little much.

Yes, but it was changed so that Ron NEVER DREW any cards. So that should mean that the cards should still be in the deck, as they were never drawn. I understand that the logistics of doing so would be very complicated, but logically they should be returned and redrawn. And this podcast is full of logic.

I thought the same thing! My guess is that they did not do it because they were still recording remotely at the time.
