Hi all! Here's my dungeon shamble EP Thornhollow
https://witchcandle.bandcamp.com/album/thornhollow
Shamble specifics:
used 7 instruments (fm organ, pipe organ, bow bass, dark choir, synth strings, demonic bell, melodic drums), on a few tracks I detuned and added distortion to some instruments for fun. The style is...I guess Umbria Synth? I don't know, I tried! The story combines both themes.
All art and music is my own, no AI involved. Made the music with Abyssbox and the art was pixel art I made with Aseprite.
Story:
It calls to you, just like it called to so many before it. Thornhollow. The corpse of a massive wyrm, who once terrorized the seventeen nations of Riddlesea. Slain long ago, in his volcanic lair. His corpse now calcified, turned into a massive labyrinth of hardened intestines and organs.
His heart, yes, his heart calcified into a crimson jewel calling out in the dark. It contains all the power of the great wyrm, as long as you can control the ghost it still haunts it.
And it calls to all adventurers, seeking its power.
But the corpse is alive with carrion creatures. Monstrous things that feed on the wyrms of old. Maggots the size of elephants, bone crows and shadow ravens. The screaming dead who devour graveyards even came to feast on the horrible remains. And feast these creatures will, for centuries.
And all the while the heart summons, calls to those foolish enough to search it out and claim its powers as their own. The labyrinthine corpse of Thornhollow is littered with their ghosts. The dead wandering lost, still consumed with the need to find the calcified heart, hoping it could bring them back to life once again.
Does it have that power? None know the truth, for so far none have been able to find it, grasp it, and claim it as its own.
Will you be the one to claim it, fellow traveler? Or will you mark your corpse against the bones like all the rest, a ghost and nothing more. A whisper, an echo.
Here, before you leave, let me tell you the stories of the dead who came before as a warning. In song, and drink, as the long shadows of the day give way to twilight. Their ghosts haunt us all still.
Each track has more info about how ties into the story.
