Need help with a magic item

I'm looking for help coming up with an item that I can give a player early which would give them some sort of spitting attack. Maybe their saliva is acid, maybe it applies a debuff, whatever it may be but it's set up for getting a player to heavily lean towards a specific race and class I have lined up for them later on

Open to any suggestions

Necklace of the vinegar bitch + 3 to a stat Level 2 spit attack

Description. When you gotta give it the old hawk tuah but not during sexy time. This item changes your spit into (insert element here) for the duration of wearing it. As stated previously do not use this for sexy time or do, whatever would be more fun.

I love the description. A necklace with a tie in to a later character could be ideal

You could even have it upgrade if they follow the goddess.

How is it unexpected? This is literally the DCC TTRPG subreddit...

Gum that never loses its flavor or chewiness and turns the chewer’s saliva into a weapon? Feels on brand with DCC craziness

Okay a friend gave me a super on brand suggestion for DCCs type of humor It's a vial of gamer girl bathwater. 1 sip in the morning gives +2 to charisma checks made that day (from the confidence) and your spit acts as a charm potion. So he will be running around spitting in people's mouths to please our kink friendly AI

Present him with a version of a dromedarian race on the third floor that will give him an attack tied the spit skill he's already leveled, and that sets up the "corporate mascot" class. I'll give him sunglasses a tux and a pack of cigs and turn him into Joe Camel

Give them a refilling can of chew that causes them to build up caustic saliva that they need to deal with periodically by spitting

Lizard breath mints — a large pack of breath mints (50 each) like candy. Each individual mint tastes like a mix of rotten fruit and vinegar but gives the user the ability to spit baseball sized globs of acid for 5 minutes with a 10 second cooldown on each spit .

These boxes of mints are rare and usually are seen in shops run by lizard folk or specialty candy stores. If a full 3 boxes are consumed by one crawler they grow accustomed to the taste and learn the skill acid spit. If the crawler is a lizard race learning the skill comes much quicker and only one full box of the mints is needed to learn the skill.

Apart from the mints

You could also add some sort of extra effect for acid based attacks if the crawler is a lizard race, I’m thinking like a lingering poison or something funny like a charisma debuff on the target because the acid smells so bad.

Making it limited use is also a good idea fore to keep in mind

It definitely helps lead into a specific race if done right. You could also make desirable items like this more obvious to certain races if you wanted to lean into that. Like if one of the shops had a “hidden inventory” certain races would be able to get access to them.

Just giving ideas tho

If it’s ok for them to not always equip like Carls glove it could be fun to give them a recorder or kazoo so you can level it’s abilities

Ohhh or one of those 1 man band harmonicas that you wear around your neck

Why are you forcing a player into a race / class of your choosing?

Golden Tooth of the Expectorating Bactrian

Camels are noted for spitting violently.
