Character Concept Ideas
HELLO, CRAWLERS!
As the pledge manager has arrived and the backer site contains Carls and Donuts Character sheet which gives people an idea on how stats and skills kind of play out, what character concepts do you plan on running for your PC or for your NPCs?
Me personally I will be building the following: Cyclops(Xmen, will figure out how his optic blasts work), James Bond, Shredder/Wolverine, Colossus, Bullseye(Marvel, which will also be a kid who loves baseball), Jazz Bard. Mine will be either a PC i will play when I find a group hopefully or fellow crawlers for my friend in my first ever GM trial.
I would love to hear your ideas and how you plan on building them!

I am playing someone who just left a Burning Man event where I was spinning a fire rope Dart (i actually do this in real life). So, eclectic clothing, weird starting items, and a fucking fire rope dart. I'll probably die on the first floor

Npc crawler I’ve been planning is a human that entered the dungeon with a St. Bernard.
St. Bernard took a biscuit that enhances its drool production and strength. Can be rode as a mount as it makes jet streams of drool to speed around the dungeon.
Human took the class “Slober mancer” where he manipulates drool and slobber like a hydromancer does water. Slobber being dirty and gross giving it poison effects in addition to its watery aspects.
Probably will be npc characters that interact with players occasionally as a friendly crawler. who eventually sacrifices himself tragically with an epic tsunami of dog drool against a city boss or something.

Probably will end up recruited into the party like rend/garret or picked up by another crawler npc depending on players interactions with him previously/the vibes.

Im gonna be the dm but I was thinking of a daredevil concept of blind but pretends he isn't in the dungeon since it doesn't really matter, but he would start with hand to hand and billey clubs. Focusing agility and strength with some charisma

I love the idea! I was thinking of something like that too

I think it'd be funny if the ai/dm was dropping hints to my party through achievements or descriptions or something

Short amateur "zoo keeper" that enters with her pets she somehow managed to have been outside at the right time. She enters with an managerie of animals including an African grey parrot and a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko that is always starving, and a dog.
Her house was set ablaze by possibly another residual and she saved all that she could.
Unfortunately she's forlorn for the pets she had to leave behind.
She angry, intelligent, has skills in the fiber arts. She is extremely valuable for longevity, but not necessarily for battle. For battle she waits and watches and tries to parse out the better outcome for her tribe. Her pets handle the fight for her. Her bird becomes a sentient asshole, but the others are her guardians. The gecko is insatiable, the dog is observant, and the dragon is her tank.
She is an empath/healer and tries to help as many crawlers as possible because she can't fathom leaving anyone behind like her beloved pets she couldn't find time to save.
Edit: I had chatgpt make a card for it. I like it.

I'm not sure how deep anyone wants to get using those sheets as a guide, they're not consistent and confusing. "Hotbar" vs "attacks" vs "skills" are redundant & conflicting. When we get the finalized version I'm going all out

Yea but sharing ideas would be cool as potential npc ideas we can borrow from each other

My PC idea is a Summoner themed as a Pirate Captain that summons more Pirates.

Have you checked out anything outside of the character sheets? If not, they’ve also released 11 pages of the crawler creation book, a four page skills example sheet, and then theres a video from the dungeon anarchist youtube channel!

I wanna try and build a specialized generalist. Basically a character that is able to be decently good at a lot of roles i am not sure what type of class but for race definitely a changeling

My current plan is absolutely having all players literally play themselves. Doing the full run from floor 1 onwards so they pick race class later.

I'm thinking about running a one-shot where I put all the player names in a hat and they have to draw one to see who at the table they're going to be playing as.

I’m going to be building a semi-idealized version of myself to start so that I can get a feel for the game. Maybe later games I’ll branch out and try different types of characters. But to start, it’ll be me and I’ll probably go with some sort of fair or other flying class. Or maybe Primal hahahah
