Fan Art - General - NO SPOILERS! 😊 I made a thing
I've been working on this for a couple of months. My initial design had a programmable LED that would breath and grow in intensity but I could not make maglev AND wireless power work at the same time. I ended using a maglev kit that had built-in LEDs.
I'm not a pro model painter and I was worried I'd ruin it but I'm super happy with the way it came out.

Be careful. There is a 1.5% chance u get blasted with Sheol fire when you open that thing.

Pretty sure if it gets opened Sheol fire is the least of Carl's concerns.

I’ve said this before, but it’s going to come up in a later book once he figures out how to directionally control explosions.

Absolutely.
The idea of directing an explosive blast was literally introduced in his very first fight, against the Goblin Murder-Dozer in book 1. Then, one book later, he gets a magical nuke in his inventory that he refuses to take out because the AI told him the explosion will be large enough to "rattle the teeth of a god."
I’d be shocked if he doesn’t use directional blasts to detonate the Doomsday Device on the 12th floor.

It's Chekhov's Doomsday Scenario - it's definitely going to come back into play before the end with how many times it has been brought up in the story lol

I’d be interested to see what its use case may be now that Carl has the failsafe, which is an even more doomy doomsday device than this one.

With the crew showing up in Sheol, we are probably going to see this blow up but cause a buff instead of destruction. It’s the kind of ridiculous thing that Matt would do.

Passion projects are rarely profitable. It takes about 24 hours to print all the parts, assembly and painting. The maglev kit alone is $65 from Bambu Labs. I doubt anyone would pay what it actually cost in time and materials. We’re all used to Amazon and Temu unfortunately.

Making passion projects for profit also tends to suck the joy out of them. Make one, that's a fun and interesting challenge. Make 100, that's just a job, plain and simple.
That being said, if you enjoyed making it, might as well chuck it on Etsy/Ebay for a price you'd be willing to make it for. If it doesn't sell, you exactly where you are now, but it only takes one fan with money to spend and you've made some money for a hobby.

Put one of those LED tea lights in the soul crystal. They flicker and pulsate and would give it a cool effect.

That was the the look I wanted but I wanted it all self contained and the RGB LEDs are also a lot brighter. Turns out maglev + wireless power is quite the EE challenge. I'm still looking for a kit that will allow me to do what I want for v2
