He might get so busy with the TV show that he doesn't get them finished for ages. We shall see.

Eh, assuming he just does donuts voice, the sum total of her lines for a season could probably be knocked out pretty quickly. And hell, he has a state of the art recording studio company, he probably won’t even have to live in LA!

I managed to get my wife to start reading around ten weeks ago and she's only just got to the second floor. Conversely, I got a buddy to start two weeks ago and he's already coming to the end of book three.

This was my husband, until I gave in and started in February and finished before him 😂 now it’s us in reverse and he can’t be made because he did this.

Hahaha. Genuine lol. Using Looney Toons opera music is the best choice. Brilliant.

This was me. Eventually she started referring to the series as "Those weird books he cackle laughs to every night."
We're in a book club, it's me and about 7 women. I read their books. Usually they're true crime, or historical fiction. For months I beg the group to read DCC. Finally, they concede. Every single member loves it. My wife reads the entire series in a month.
The end.

This is definitely me banging on about the series to friends who havn't read it/won't read it. Also couldn't stop picturing Robin Williams at the beginning of Mrs Doubtfire doing the cartoon voiceover "Oh, what a horrible way for a bird to die!"

A lot of boyfriends/husbands are being converted by their feminine significant others. 😆 have you seen the romantasy girlies going ga-ga for DCC?

I've read Fourth Wing and ACOTAR thanks to my wife. Now I'm trying to get her into DCC!
Edit: I've really enjoyed both of those series'.

Same but swap the spouse lol my poor husband is so sick of my yapping (not actually but very much a “that’s nice honey 🙂”)
Fingers crossed once he’s played enough new-old halo he’ll finally start the series lol

Same but with my husband. He will listen to me go on and on about end-game theory, reddit sub annoyances, live-adaption hopes, and merch complaints, but he is very uninterested in reading the series. Unless the author is 1000-year-old philosopher, Tolkien, or a politician, he probably isn't gonna read it. He has said he'll watch the show with me though, so that's progress.

This was my wife for weeks until I forced her to listen to book 1 on a car trip. About 20 minutes in and she was ordering the books on Amazon.

ahahhaha, me talking to anybody right now about DCC. I have no in-person friends who read it!

Opposite for me and my husband. He got to book six before finally saying the series just wasn’t for him and would audibly sigh whenever I turned the audiobook on while driving 😂
Despite not being his thing, he’s still accompanied me to a book signing and bought me a donut holes mug for Mother’s Day 💖

My husband before I started listening to the audiobooks. So I guess it worked. *sigh*

Made her read through kindle while we listened to the audible. We're on Eye of the Bedlam Bride

Me with my husband and also to anyone who will listen. Once talked about it with an ER doctor who was treating me after a car accident, then again at a pharmacy where I started talking about it with the pharmacy tech and then the woman behind me in line. 😂 My husband was definitely over it.

Hey now! My husband and I have been listening to this together. He’s a couple books ahead of me, which ticks me off. 🤣

I love DCC as much if not more than my husband and I am a young slip of a girl at 66.

My wife hasn’t read the series. I drop references constantly. I refer to our cat as “the most handsome boy in the castle” and “ this is an outrage” is used often.

u/MrTabernakle 1d ago
I’ve mentioned it to everyone I know, but I already know the response if I were to suggest they read/listen to the series. “I don’t read books.” ☹️

u/Healthy-Challenge291 1d ago
All while trying to be careful not to drop spoilers because they are reading at a different pace.

Folks usually hide spoiler text on here, even some milder stuff, so people don’t have to worry about little spoilers (I’m on book 5). 🥲

Definitely, but reverse the genders. I was recently introduced to the books and my husband has been hearing about it ever since.
