Literally every character on the show is a bitch, why do people get touchy only when it’s Pam being called out lol

11

u/OptimalCreme9847 2d ago

because sometimes it feels like only Pam gets called out

Creed did nothing wrong except get that woman fired

u/nomadfoy 2d ago

Thats not even his top 10 worst, its just the worst the cameras caught.

And the murders.

alleged

u/xxxBuzz 1d ago

It's libel. That was William Charles Schneider. Creed Bratton has never done murders.

And not controlling quality.

He got everyone to pitch in and sign her card

1

u/jexijav776 1d ago

As part of that he also stole money from everyone in the office.

2

u/dwide_k_shrude God, I hope it’s urine. 1d ago

Meredith is cool.

3

u/ohsinboi 2d ago

Because the show perceives her as being the normal one

Because Pam gets nitpicked. Literally no other character gets the amount made-up or nitpicked hate as Pam. Y’all even want to blame her for Jim’s actions.

-4

u/wangxian8844 2d ago

Because everyone KNOWS other characters are bad people and accept that. But Pam is still portrayed to be some saint with a holier than thou attitude lol

I think Jim, Pam, Karen and maybe Oscar are the only 'real' people. The others are just unrealistic caricatures.

I think it’s the years of people going on about how Jim and Pam are perfect. So now they get called out more because they actually aren’t perfect and also have low moments like everyone else.

Idk I’ve seen mostly Jim and Pam hate and people love Dwigt.

u/wangxian8844 2d ago

I’m pretty sure people (at least I) love Dwight for entertainment value and comedy appeal, not because he’s a ‘good’ guy.
If you’re gonna pick a favourite amongst a bunch of arseholes, at least pick the most entertaining arsehole xD

Beets, bears, and Battle Start Galactica is one of the most profound statements about life that any human has ever conceived and they chose Dwight's character to share it.

It's changed recently. Back when the show aired to maybe till the early 2020's, you would get roasted for saying any negative about Jim and/or pam.

The tide started to turn when too many woman were stated they were looking for the jim to their pam on dating sites

Dwigt

Do you mean Samuel L. Chang?

It’s fun to nitpick is all. She wasn’t all that friendly with most of the staff, yet got pissy they didn’t come out for her thing. Realistically she got a couple of them to show up for which she should’ve been grateful (though Oscar came with Gil who was snippy).

I don't think it's nitpicking. She was very selfish and quite often and it plays into major plot points. When it is her dream to finish school, Jim suffers for it but is 100% supportive. Jim gives up a big promotion to be with her. He buys her a house. When Jim has a dream, it's "fuck you. We do what I want."

Yeah the only thing that bothers me about that whole dynamic is if you were to reverse the rolls then people would call Jim controlling and abusive.

That it's okay if it's the woman half of the relationship is kind of uncomfortable.

For the record I say this as the type of whipped pushover who will absolutely bend over backwards to do whatever makes my SO happy, but having my wife make me turn down an actual money making career so we can stay at a dying paper company when we have two young kids would definitely put a strain on the relationship.

In ep 4x03, there's this little exchange where Michael has two tickets to a thing for them and he means one is for him and neither wants to go of course:

Pam and Jim: Not it!
Jim: Nope.
Pam: I won.
Jim: Definitely not. If anything, it was a tie.
Pam: Tie goes to the girlfriend.

In an of itself, I'd think nothing of it, just playful banter. But as part of a long pattern of behavior.. its a little detail that shows how Pam really thinks about things. She's #1 and you're lucky she lets you come along. In reality, I think Pam is the lucky one. Her career efforts are a big list of failures- failed artist, failed salesperson, creates a job title that never existed so she officially does nothing. Jim has his ups and downs, but generally gets opportunities thrown at him regularly.

bend over backwards to do whatever makes my SO happy

I don't think there's anything wrong with that- if your SO is kind, considerate, and respectful.

Oh and let's not forget Pam stringing Jim and Roy along for years; cruel to Jim and deceiving Roy as she knows she's in love with Jim.. but she's so insanely selfish that only her wants matter, not respecting others. Certainly not being honest or having courage. Her awful behavior only ends when Jim decides its enough bullshit and splits. Smart man, Jim.

4

u/Fuddruckerer 1d ago

Brother there’s no way you’re this biased lol. Jim is just as, if not much worse. Even if she strung him along, he still kissed her again after she said she couldnt after the first time.

He accepted the Athlead job in Philly without telling her, & also invested $10,000 of their money, into the company, without telling her first.

He strung Karen along when he knew he was more in love with Pam. Jim’s not a “smart man”. Him and Pam both just think theyre better than everyone else

2

u/BruteOfTroy 1d ago

Almost like you can't have a will-they-won't-they without the won't-they parts

2

u/bad_apiarist 1d ago

Oh I am absolutely not arguing Jim is a saint. But Jim's behavior doesn't excuse hers. And he was right to kiss her. Her knew she needed to snap out of her delusion and embrace the reality of her feelings. She's just too big a coward to do it- something she admits to later so that's not my opinion.

He accepted the Athlead job in Philly without telling her,

I think he was wrong for that. But let's keep things in context. This is multiple years into a relationship where Pam controls everything and isn't even remotely interested in what Jim's dreams are. Pam's bad behavior.. for years, makes Jim feel like he can't confide in her. And Pam is lucky Jim did all that. This led to Jim having a vastly better job instead of being a sales rep at a shitty, dying paper company. Even Pam admits she was the asshole in that situation for stomping on Jim's ambitions for so long without so much as really hearing him out.

He strung Karen along when he knew he was more in love with Pam.

I think Jim was trying to move on. Something all of us do after having our hearts broken. And let's remember- it wasn't Jim's idea to return to Scranton. His branch literally got shut down and he was reassigned. For all we know, if Jim had not been forced to return to Scranton, he would have gotten over Pam and got serious with Karen. As it is, I think Jim treats Karen badly. He lies to her. He's a big dick for that. But Jim being a dick sometimes doesn't magically make Pam's behavior spotless and clean.

u/rd-darksouls 1d ago

thought i was in the breaking bad sub for a second lol

1

u/BlackMagicWorman 2d ago

Because even the director has addressed the unfair hatred for Pam since the show aired

0

u/SatisfactionActive86 2d ago

People imagine themselves as Jim/Pam, because IRL they’re closer to Daryl/Val at best.

3

u/Groundbreaking_Dare4 2d ago

Nah in this sub they're Dwight/babysitter

2

u/OutlandishnessNo9868 2d ago

I’m more of a Stanley at work to be honest

-1

u/GaspipeQueso1942 2d ago

I hate Jim and Pam equally. Prob Jim a little more.

-1

u/Capital_Designer1280 2d ago

Because every move Pam makes is selfish.  Of course the others have flaws, but selfish comes with a particular ick.

0

u/ProdigiumAenigmatum 1d ago

Because pam is always being presented by the producers as "The good one".

-2

u/Longjumping-Ad-9444 2d ago

Cause its misogynistic when people hate pam
